QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Aug 9 2013, 11:20 PM) I just merely shared my personal experience. Hi Cheah, I am not to enter the debate, but want to ask ur experience on mutual funds. Along 13 years, how is ur investment strategics? Do u lower or exit the equity fund during downturn? As I learn from some book, if u put ur money in UT without "touching" it all the way, ur profit will be very minimal. It is just like a cycle of earning, lose out the earning, earning, lose out the earning and end up with minimal profit or even no profit.I said I vested in mutual funds for 13 years, my conclusion based on my experience is my other investment give me better return. I m not here to inviting debate. You can share your experience as well to prove the otherwise. About karma thingy, a lot of ppl speculate on stocks also especially fund managers. Not only property, gold, petrol, commodity like rice, garlic also open for speculation, so we can't say karma. If u want good karma then better put money under the pillow. |

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Aug 10 2013, 12:59 PM) I monitored the funds monthly/ quarterly and switch in between bond and equity funds. As a public mutual gold member, I enjoyed 12 free switchings per year, also for FSM- HK, they also offer unlimited switchings as well. What is ur profit for other investment? 8% p.a. is quite good for UT investment.I would say for the last most active 10 years, I made around 8% p.a. in average only. Not outperform my other investment. |

QUOTE(TakoC @ Aug 21 2013, 08:06 PM) I remember one of the bro here shared a picture that FSM sent them what to fill up when making a transaction through M2U. I am putting their email all the time, no issue. R u save FSM account as favourite 3rd account in M2U?If fill the recipient email with FSM email, there will be no need to send another email to them attaching the receipt. I'm fairly sure this was what the bro who posted meant. Asked them through LiveChat and they couldn't give me a definite answer. Reason being when I put FSM email, M2U don't recognize it. |

Each time I do transfer I need to type it again. If u look carefully, the account holder name have been cut after save as favourtite, it become "IFAST CAPITAL SDN BH". |

QUOTE(TakoC @ Aug 21 2013, 08:39 PM) I inserted the exact email, but can't proceed. Hmm.. Didn't save their account as favorite though. I don't think that will be a problem? As I remember, before I added FSM account as favourite, there is some issue during the transfer, but can't recall the issue now. The issue gone after I add it as favourite. |

Do anyone understand the detail of weighted average cost. I understand that it is formulated as "gross amount invested/unit available", the unit portion is straight forward, but how about "gross amount invested"? It is specially confuse when few buy and sell happen to related fund, how the gross amount be calculated.

QUOTE(TakoC @ Sep 1 2013, 05:49 PM) In short, lets say you buy in 4 times in a fund : Thanks, this one I understand, butRM10,000 @ RM0.50/unit RM5,000 @ RM0.455/unit RM5,000 @ RM0.40/unit RM10,000 @ RM0.55/unit Your total units is (eg: RM10,000/0.50) for all 4 transactions (sorry, I lazy calculate). Your gross amount invested RM30,000. RM30,000 / total units available will be your units average cost. And of course if you calculate correctly, the profit % etc will be exactly like what FSM reflects in your 'Portfolio Holding'. Buy RM10,000 @ RM0.50/unit Sell RM5,000 @ RM0.55/unit Buy RM5,000 @ RM0.60/unit Gross amount invest is still RM10,000?? It seen like not, something need to included during ur sell process. |
