Central Bank of Indonesia has indicated that they will raise interest rate from the current 7% to 8.5% progressively until 2014.
Those thinking of buying Indonesia bond at attractive rate, please be careful including those emerging market bonds with high proportion allocated so SEA. IMF has reported that these countries are vulnerable to currency speculation :- 1. India 2. Indonesia 3. Thailand 4. Malaysia This post has been edited by gark: Sep 6 2013, 10:52 AM |

Gotta read the prospectus more carefully, some feeder fund does that...Luckily it's quite diversified globally, Indomee only 5%+ I noticed one funny thing...United EMBF charges 1.75% management fee, but OSK-UOB EMBF (the Feeder fund) charges 1.5% only MER of the Feeder is at 1.8% This post has been edited by gark: Sep 6 2013, 11:58 AM |

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Sep 9 2013, 10:45 AM) DON'T TIME THE MARKET Wah.. use Sun Tzu principals... to play UT... to use an analogy, u don't wait for the enemy to show weakness before u march your armies. If u wait and wait and wait, your King will fire u for not doing your job. He wants a war and u sit there play cooking with your soldiers u start your military campaign with small skirmishes by small battalions, yes some soldiers would be lost, but that's war then when your enemy shows weakness/you see an opportunity, u move your main army in to attack full force This post has been edited by gark: Sep 9 2013, 10:48 AM |

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Sep 11 2013, 04:54 PM) Actually my target is 55/45 IMHO REIT should form your bond weightings not equity... Why drop from 51 to 48 is due to dumping AmAsia Pac REITs Then after that equities rally...shoot up to 52 Off topic kejap Carlsberg at current price DY looks like less than 4% for the foreseeable future Feel wanna dump and cut loss and deploy the $$$ elsewhere...any stocks to rekomen me to look at? No construction and property stocks pls OT. Carlsberg is a very good growth/dividend stock, but sadly quite expensive PE wise so therefore the reduction in price currently. If you are looking at yields, maybe more to Apollo? But is dumping at a loss a good idea? This post has been edited by gark: Sep 11 2013, 05:33 PM |

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Sep 11 2013, 05:35 PM) 1H 2013 results disappoints OT OT OTMy calculations and ANALysts' calculations also project DY of 3%++ for current FYE, and slightly above 4% at best for coming 2-3 years. Looking at Daibochi and Kian Joo but industrials are not something I can easily grasp...so a bit doubtful Gotta see long term.. 1Q does not tell the whole story... I agree current price is over priced, but for a reason, it is still a very good company. Diabochi is ok, but the yields is only average, making packaging for food. Competitor is tomypak and selling at lower PE. Kian Joo..and Can1 are competitors, both making general cans, if you notice lately more and more packaging is moving towards flexible type like plastic, carton etc... also lately tin coated steel sheets have risen in price because Perusahan Sadur Timah Bhd has ask for anti-dumping duty from MITI. Can1 got a hidden food company called able dairies, which make canned condensed creamer. This post has been edited by gark: Sep 11 2013, 05:42 PM |

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Sep 11 2013, 05:45 PM) 5-6% yield = AVERAGE??? Yalar 5% is average mah, 3% is low and 8% is high. So many insider info That's why I not confident to buy industrial stocks...so many things that laymen won't know Maybe hold lor...since my paper gains from other stocks more than enough to cover Carlsberg's paper loss. If I dump it, my Realised Gains column would see red, now it's still black I went and look look see see Indon beer company Bintang Beer... 1 share = RM 350, ROA/ROE > 200% PE 36x, DY 1.6%.. waffak... in a country with 96% muslim.
