Do you mind the exchange rates to Ringgit?
USD and EUR are still strong against MYR
*
Shouldn't one wait for the USD/Euro to weaken to get a lower NAV for Aberdeen?

i am NOT good at forex thing, (may have misunderstood) but a forummer once posted this

"Furthermore, u also have forex to take account into.
Let's say Dow fell 2%
But Ringgit weakened against USD
U might even have a gain in NAV! tongue.gif

i aimed to go for GEM and North Asia for their amount of upside potentials..
mostly based on these

Seems low interest to this Aberdeen in this forum, huh?

Nothing much to talk about, it's a fairly stable and well-managed global fund IMHO

something unrelated..hmm hmm.gif ..was thinking saving a fixed amount into FD and FSM monthly...FSM can use DDA but FD cannot how ah...Maybank FD cannot auto uplift FD haha...or should I DDA more into cash management fund every month when free only withdraw and put into FD...basically wanna force myself to save
*
Good idea.

Every month dump all excess cash in CMF. Then when ur FD matures, sell CMF and transfer to ur bank, then top up FD thumbup.gif

I think is a great idea actually. Especially so if you only intend to place all your FD in 1 month tenure. You can accumulate in CMF and when it's sufficient can withdraw and put in FD.

Looi, I remember reading that you are already a retiree investor, why still want to focus more on GEM. I believe Pink advice that your portfolio should be more risk adverse (more allocation to bonds), compare to your current high equity exposure.

Just my 2 cents. Cheers.

Indeed. Like I mentioned earlier.

I hope we'll be getting this result again after the release of Sept job report.

In fact, if I'm Unker Looi, I'd buy these:

Asia ex-Japan dividend
- AmAsia Pac Equity Income
- Hwang Select Dividend

A bit of small caps for some spice?
- Hwang Ponzi Quantum (obviously tongue.gif )

Plus a bit of American Pie and European draught beer drool.gif
- OSK-UOB Global Equity Yield
- Aberdeen Islamic World Equity

Not to forget, buy some blue chip dividend shares for some passive cash flow... icon_idea.gif

With some bond funds to stabilise the portfolio...I can rest in peace sleep soundly yawn.gif

hi everyone, newbies here getting to go into FMS for prs fund, would like to know if most of u open account under personal or beneficiary? if i have open under personal, can a beneficiary added to fund i purchased? thanks in advance
*
you are not able to add another person under your personal account. You will need to open a beneficiary account if you wish to add another person into the account.

Beneficiary Account is useful if you are planning separate portfolios for your children, parents, or loved ones. The laws governing survivorship will apply here. In the event that main account holder in the beneficiary account passes on, the assets of the account will belong to the surviving person, i.e. beneficiary holder.

click on GETTING STARTED >> Account Opening >> Personal/Beneficiary Account. Then select “Additional” button

thanks for the advise and reminder....
Currently approximate EQ is 70% FI is 30% in UT portfolio
(Thinking of using all i have in EPF and Cash/FD as a bond assets will allow me to go more heavy to EQ in UT investment)
Bond now dielah(except M'sia bond).....Balanced fund also die.....(seems like slowly reviving in the last few days)
will take this 1 or 2 months of Mkt ups to switch away from Balance/bond related funds......
QE tapering is just delayed....will come back (i think next year).
Debt limit i am not so worried.

When u sell CMF (or any other fund in FSM), they remit to your local bank account FOR FREE. Most if not all banks are available.
