Only for those who wants the best of both worlds! 27 inch LED LCD Monitor 2560 x 1440 beauty and overclockable Monitor from 96hz to 120hz or beyond(Conditions Applied). Both Qnix & X-Star have the same specs.

Updated: For the gamers who wanted the edge, tested on BF3, great clarity and astounding colors. It's a FPS dream. Other games such as SC2, LOL, with detailed definition and at the fraction of the price those branded monitors can't even match. For those with GTX 600 & 700 series of Graphic Cards' users or the new ATI Radeon 6K/7K users, this is the best monitor for gamers. See photos of BF3 & SC2 attached.

Disclaimers & Updates: Depending on Models, most overcloackable models used one input and it is only for PC used and not for other devices. Having tested and seen what this monitor can do, however it is not 100% guaranteed that your system could overclocked to 120hz stability. According to most people who used it the minimum overclocked would be 96hz and some can go as far as 130ish hz. But my unit max stability is 120hz. Most people recommended that 96hz overclocked is a very excellent experience using this monitor than the normal 60hz experience. If you could get 120hz that's already a bonus. One major key factor is your Graphic Card, I believe the minium is Nvidia GTX500 series and ATI should be ATI6000 series. Secondly it also depends on monitor PCB board, to date the Qnix and X-Star brands have the PCB board that is able to overclock their monitors.

Compatibility
This is By-Pass Model and doesn't have AD Board.
PC graphic card must surport Dual link DVI.
Macbook, Laptops and On-Board graphics cards are also NOT compatible.
Please check display port of graphic card for compatibility with Monitor,
Because monitor be unable to support all display port of your PC.

Received the item last night.

everything was included in the package, so its pretty much works out from the box

worked as advertised. but unfortunately you wont able to adjust the color because theres only brightness button under the monitor.
not really a problem with this as i can adjust the display with nvidia panel.

Got this WQHD monitor and works at 120Hz.
could notice its 120Hz by dragging windows around without motion blur

quite surprise it was already available this fast because i thought i should wait longer.
polite and kind, very proper and good seller.
Thanks for business thumbup.gif

Wow, Ultima, that's fast. Lol, great to hear that.

I believe that the Qnix color works out of the box without much adjustment, but off course it's very subjective.

I hope you would enjoy the super vibrant colors of desktop if you are able to download 1440p wall paper. Sometimes you just wanted to stare at the desktop, it's like the pictures are popping out alive.

If you got time please update us your progress in games' experiences. Thank you.

Cheers

Hi, yeah, I was using 17'' Dell trimonitor U1708FPt until I found this and I am very pleased with the result. I have also wall mounted this monitor. So far so good. Some users used 3 of this 27'' and I wonder how do they get that space, lol. As for the 120hz stats, I believe that 95% of people used it could achieve it. Newer GPU GTX 600 and above is the best with it.

By next year I heard that they might even come out with the 4k model. rclxms.gif

Oh wow, you got a really big estate there, man. It really depends on what's your monitor main usage, Dell 30WFP is a darn good monitor with a price tag, except that it can't overclocked. Anyways have fun with it.

Apologize for late buyers as of Sept 2013.

Updated: Seems that Qnix and X-Star monitors' price have gone up due to the popular demand of these monitor world-wide. I also put in the X-Star monitor pictures, they are the same specs.

Don't know if the price would go down later.

Looking at your stars have blinded my eyes, rclxub.gif I need a pair of sunglasses cool2.gif .
Q: Difference between Qnix & X-Star?
A: Short answer: Choose whichever one you want.
Long answer: They have the same screen, (both Samsung PLS), and look almost identical other than their Brand Logo. No clear proof of which is better at this time. The general consensus is believed that they have the same random OC-ability.

Cheers

Good questions, you could get from any of them. I have no time to do comparison between catleap, crossover & qnix. As far as oc'ed is concern, I would rather go for the brand that most people has been using which is Qnix and Xstar is the second.

However when I get these units I deal direct.

Lastly, if you have the money get catleap 2b overclock, but I think it's too overpriced.

Thank you.

Cheers,

Hi, you could get from any of the sellers you mentioned. As for me I deal direct. I am more concern for the brands that most people use for oc'ed and statistically successful. If you want brands with adjustable stand that's a secondary matter.

However, if you want to I could get any of the brands you mentioned.

Thank you.

I am asking cus i read in techpowerup and overclock.net, only certain seller's batch could be oced till 120hz.

Catleap was the 1st brand that i saw which was popular elsewhere but anyhow i am more interested in crossover which is about USD 30+ more exp then the rest because it is visually more attractive and has an adjustable stand.

Thank you for reply as i am still considering and it is nearing the end of nov which is a good time to purchase then.

Yeah, after seeing what the monitor can do, would be difficult to go for other normal monitors. Just updated my nvidia driver to 331.65 and the recent games are so optimized and smooth. Waiting to try out my gefen cable soon and can't wait to see the result.

Hi,

It's the same method as with the Nvidia Card. But the newer cards like R9-280x need more tweaking for above 110hz. Don't know why but I heard that most people uses 7970 series are more stable. You can't just overclock monitor, the monitor must come with the PCBs that able to overclock it.

If you are interested to get one, let me know.

Thank you.

after i did my own research i believe S-IPS is better than PLS laugh.gif rclxms.gif the reason why i still not yet upgrade my 24 incher is because 27 incher have 2 much variations already after the recent korean monitors boom few years ago...haha...i am still reading up on the different kinds of panels and what are the pros and cons of each panels

That Lucky fella who got the Yamakasi Catleap 2B at that price. Now the Koreans are calling the shot for the Catleap 2B price. But which panel LG IPS or Samsung PLS is superior I really don't know. But what I would really love to have is the extra feature like lightboost and strobelight (even though my Qnix is bright enough from 96hz to 120hz) capabilities in these monitors. As long as the price is reasonable and it suppose to work as it should with the given PCBs, I really don't care which panel.

Heard that early next year Nvidia will sell DIY G-Sync Kit. Would love to see someone try it out.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Cheers,

Hi, do you still have the Qnix QX2710? Best price for a tested unit please.

Just got a 290X. Wanna have a screen that allows it to fulfill it's 1440p Ultra Glory. But am not getting it now though. Maybe in 2 months time. Do you do deliveries within KL?

Ok, your 290x should do well according to users that I read. Sure no problem, take your time. Yes, I do deliver within KL. This is by order basis I don't carry stock. Let me know when you have decided.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hi planning to buy one at the end of this month. Please quote me price of tested unit (glossy) along with postage to Kuantan. Oh, and also pm me the price of your cable and wall mount. I might be interested too.
Planning to pair it with quad 290s tongue.gif

Don't mean any disrespect but what's the difference between buying from you at RM1280 (~$390 USD) and directly from eBay sellers which are selling them at $320 -> $350 USD?

Please advise as I'm interested in the monitor.
Also, would an R9 290 alone be able to support 120hz on this monitor?

Thanks smile.gif

Hi,

Sure, you could buy from them if you want. It's a "free" country. But for me I deal with the supplier and offer my services. This is to offer the buyers worry free purchase, if there are problems with the panels after I checked I will send them back for them. So far my supplier if not in a rush has been good, if I manage to communicate with the main personnel earlier, has given me excellent monitors end of last year except for one that has more light bleed down right corner which could be avoided if it's not because of Christmas and New Year Holidays' rush. Even with that minor problem, if you so desire, can be rectified by opening the bezel and do some adjustments.

The last two that I am delivering this week, are near perfect, very low light bleed and no dead pixels.

Anyways, according to user(s) of R9-290, it should be able to o'ced to 120hz.

Thank you.

Cheers,

Ordered last week, got mine yesterday, which is rather fast considering it's being shipped from Korea. Zero dead pixels, very minor light bleed. pika123 supplied the overclocking kit as well, so I managed to pull it off without any hassle (apart from rebooting Win8 into unenforced driver signature mode).

The colours are pretty warm and vibrant (a bit too much?) out of the box, so I manually calibrated it back to my liking. In very dark conditions, you can see the minor bleeds and some faint strips of light onscreen, but otherwise unnoticeable during normal usage/gameplay.

In terms of ghosting, there appears to be none, except perhaps when you spin your viewpoint very fast, so I guess FPS gamers might not like it that much.

So yeah, after years of getting too accustomed to the Cinema display at work, I finally get some serious screen real estate at home. thumbup.gif

Hey Danger, thanks for your professional comments rclxms.gif . I haven't used Windows 8 so that's great to hear how it works with those install on Windows 8. I am still much comfortable with Windows 7. blush.gif

As for Color calibration side you are the expert man. LOL.

Regarding the spinning part, yeah, that part could only be solved when we have the feature called Strobelight. But it's only available on monitors with lightboost. The Strobelight enables backlight strobing on LightBoost-capable monitors, so it could lessen the motion blurr effect. But I don't know when I compared spinning my head fast on real life situation, it looks like it's normal though on game it's true I would prefer more controlled steady pictures when spin fast from a view point. According to one other expert: "Any monitor that doesn't strobe will have motion blur, and monitors with slower response times will have a slight smearing effect. This is more noticeable with lower frame rates. Some games may also have their own effects, but most don't." So, at least I don't get smearing effect with games.

Thanks and have fun. rclxms.gif

Cheers,

how much would be a 120hz able monitor with close to no (atleast not in obvious places) dead pixels (sellers on ebay use the term perfect pixel)?

Game Updates:

1. Titanfall

I have been using the Qnix more than a year already and it's still functioning well. I don't turn on 24/7, just evening time after work or weekend. So far it's good. For Titanfall, framerate from 70fps to 122fps using 110hz or 120hz.

Yeah, unfortunately, there are changes on tariff side. Those who got it earlier are very fortunate. Updated price range. But PM me, the price might be lower than stated.

Dear members,

For those of you still interested in this monitor, please look at my update on the pricing. You might want to compare Freesync and Gsync monitor to see if it's worth the value. Please PM me if you need to ask some questions.

Thank you.

Dear members,

Sorry for the very late reply to all. Most of the time I will reply through PM. The price for the monitor Qnix 2710 (matte) is about RM1650 (all inclusive). So, as mention before, please check on Gsync and freesync IPS monitors' prices before getting this type.

If you are really serious about this kind of monitor, please pm me.

Thank you.

Cheers,
