Nice to see overclockable monitors here
*
Yeah, after seeing what the monitor can do, would be difficult to go for other normal monitors. Just updated my nvidia driver to 331.65 and the recent games are so optimized and smooth. Waiting to try out my gefen cable soon and can't wait to see the result.

Tempting mannnnn.... i really wanted these 1440p monitor combo with 120hz. Btw, how do you unlock overclocking monitor using amd card?
*
Hi,

It's the same method as with the Nvidia Card. But the newer cards like R9-280x need more tweaking for above 110hz. Don't know why but I heard that most people uses 7970 series are more stable. You can't just overclock monitor, the monitor must come with the PCBs that able to overclock it.

If you are interested to get one, let me know.

Thank you.

after i did my own research i believe S-IPS is better than PLS laugh.gif rclxms.gif the reason why i still not yet upgrade my 24 incher is because 27 incher have 2 much variations already after the recent korean monitors boom few years ago...haha...i am still reading up on the different kinds of panels and what are the pros and cons of each panels
*
That Lucky fella who got the Yamakasi Catleap 2B at that price. Now the Koreans are calling the shot for the Catleap 2B price. But which panel LG IPS or Samsung PLS is superior I really don't know. But what I would really love to have is the extra feature like lightboost and strobelight (even though my Qnix is bright enough from 96hz to 120hz) capabilities in these monitors. As long as the price is reasonable and it suppose to work as it should with the given PCBs, I really don't care which panel.

Heard that early next year Nvidia will sell DIY G-Sync Kit. Would love to see someone try it out.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Cheers,

Hi, do you still have the Qnix QX2710? Best price for a tested unit please.

Just got a 290X. Wanna have a screen that allows it to fulfill it's 1440p Ultra Glory. But am not getting it now though. Maybe in 2 months time. Do you do deliveries within KL?
*
Ok, your 290x should do well according to users that I read. Sure no problem, take your time. Yes, I do deliver within KL. This is by order basis I don't carry stock. Let me know when you have decided.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Don't mean any disrespect but what's the difference between buying from you at RM1280 (~$390 USD) and directly from eBay sellers which are selling them at $320 -> $350 USD?

Please advise as I'm interested in the monitor.
Also, would an R9 290 alone be able to support 120hz on this monitor?

Thanks  smile.gif

Hi,

Sure, you could buy from them if you want. It's a "free" country. But for me I deal with the supplier and offer my services. This is to offer the buyers worry free purchase, if there are problems with the panels after I checked I will send them back for them. So far my supplier if not in a rush has been good, if I manage to communicate with the main personnel earlier, has given me excellent monitors end of last year except for one that has more light bleed down right corner which could be avoided if it's not because of Christmas and New Year Holidays' rush. Even with that minor problem, if you so desire, can be rectified by opening the bezel and do some adjustments.

The last two that I am delivering this week, are near perfect, very low light bleed and no dead pixels.

Anyways, according to user(s) of R9-290, it should be able to o'ced to 120hz.

Thank you.

Cheers,

Ordered last week, got mine yesterday, which is rather fast considering it's being shipped from Korea. Zero dead pixels, very minor light bleed. pika123 supplied the overclocking kit as well, so I managed to pull it off without any hassle (apart from rebooting Win8 into unenforced driver signature mode).

The colours are pretty warm and vibrant (a bit too much?) out of the box, so I manually calibrated it back to my liking. In very dark conditions, you can see the minor bleeds and some faint strips of light onscreen, but otherwise unnoticeable during normal usage/gameplay.

In terms of ghosting, there appears to be none, except perhaps when you spin your viewpoint very fast, so I guess FPS gamers might not like it that much.

So yeah, after years of getting too accustomed to the Cinema display at work, I finally get some serious screen real estate at home.  thumbup.gif

Hey Danger, thanks for your professional comments rclxms.gif . I haven't used Windows 8 so that's great to hear how it works with those install on Windows 8. I am still much comfortable with Windows 7. blush.gif

As for Color calibration side you are the expert man. LOL.

Regarding the spinning part, yeah, that part could only be solved when we have the feature called Strobelight. But it's only available on monitors with lightboost. The Strobelight enables backlight strobing on LightBoost-capable monitors, so it could lessen the motion blurr effect. But I don't know when I compared spinning my head fast on real life situation, it looks like it's normal though on game it's true I would prefer more controlled steady pictures when spin fast from a view point. According to one other expert: "Any monitor that doesn't strobe will have motion blur, and monitors with slower response times will have a slight smearing effect. This is more noticeable with lower frame rates. Some games may also have their own effects, but most don't." So, at least I don't get smearing effect with games.

Thanks and have fun. rclxms.gif

Cheers,

Game Updates:

1. Titanfall

I have been using the Qnix more than a year already and it's still functioning well. I don't turn on 24/7, just evening time after work or weekend. So far it's good. For Titanfall, framerate from 70fps to 122fps using 110hz or 120hz.

Yeah, unfortunately, there are changes on tariff side. Those who got it earlier are very fortunate. Updated price range. But PM me, the price might be lower than stated.

Dear members,

Sorry for the very late reply to all. Most of the time I will reply through PM. The price for the monitor Qnix 2710 (matte) is about RM1650 (all inclusive). So, as mention before, please check on Gsync and freesync IPS monitors' prices before getting this type.

If you are really serious about this kind of monitor, please pm me.

Thank you.

Cheers,
