Hi, can anyone provide me the latest stock kernel please? Thanks.

I just rooted my phone and flashed to the latest perseus kernel, but I forgot to do a nandroid backup before flashing this kernel, I thought to do a reflashing for the nandroid before I swap memory.

@joytest I may sound ignorant, but I really need to ask you.

can I download the stock kernel here >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2139919

I'm sorry to ask because your sub-title warn us about the DMF2 / DME6 stuff. it says about the version and modem.

I'm currently on version 4.1.2 rooted, stock rom and perseus kernel. I wanna flash back the stock kernel but I'm abit wary about your warning as above. please advise, thank you so much.

Bro:

Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II > Sprint Galaxy Note II Android Development > [KERNELS][CWM][ODIN] Kernel Repository - Download Them All Here! (SPH-L900)

You are probably using the N7100, or N7105 (LTE)

What is your ROM current version?

If you are already on DMF1/2 or DME6 then you have the EFS partition problem as stated in the warning. Follow their advice.

I am on stock rooted DME1 only, to avoid that hassle.
*
Hi, yes I'm only using SME N7100. So meaning I can't download the Sprint's kernel.

My rom version, I check about device, it is DMC3 on my phone. The samsung service centre flashed this for me. when I sent it for my SDS warranty claim. I guess I don't have the EFS partition problem.

Sorry ler, I also want to avoid hassle, all I want is just stock rooted + perseus for the swapped memory only.

Do you suggest me to do a nandroid backup with CWM recovery now? stock rooted + perseus kernel?

thanks for your suggestion.

You can perform a nandroid now. You can read post 7 and go to i9000as thread and get the pre rooted stock then reflash your recovery and kernel.

Dude you can only take the roms etc for your specific model. Anything else will brick your phone.

You must Only use Rom n kernel meant for Note2 ( make sure you get right one as we have N7100 n N7105 models). Using another phone model Rom/kernel will Hardbrick your phone

Yes, I now understand the risk, luckily I haven't do anything yet. But please pardon my ignorance. I've been trying high and low trying to find the latest stock kernel for note 2, I don't know if I should use the word latest, I guess there is right. Would highly appreciate if you can show me as to where I can download that kernel. I'll just need to reflash the stock kernel from my perseus currently to perform a nandroid before reflashing perseus back again. I'm already rooted on stock rom but custom kernel. Thank you x100.

How did u get your perseus kernel in the first place?

Please see post 7. The  correct links are there and even the correct index thread to all roms is there. Don't go on a wild goose chase.

I got the perseus kernel from xda, was directed from uncle benny's swap memory blog.

thank you. I will read the post 7 carefully again. I don't have to flash the rom again just to get the stock kernel right? do I have to? hmm... okla, I better read first, or else I'm gonna get bombard again.

after some reading, I finally understand what do you mean here joytest. thanks.

but one thing I still don't quite understand is, is our stock rom odex or deodex rom? rclxub.gif

there are both odex and deodex version for me to download. I'm sticking to the DMC3 rom, which introduced in March 2013. any final piece of advice before I proceed please? tongue.gif

If you are flashing the whole ROM, choose a deodexed pre-rooted version. You can change the kernel later. Default is odexed. All custom ROMs are deodexed.

You can flash Assassin that allows you to change whatever you want.

*
I just downloaded the official rom from sammobile, which I believe is odexed. So do I have to download again the pre-rooted rom on xda, from post 7?

You introduced me another new term here "assassin", what does this assassin do? rclxub.gif

Actually reason why I download all these official roms is only because I wanna do a nandroid backup only. I'm already on stock rom, but I flashed the kernel before I backup only. But only if I can undo my kernel, then I don't even have to download the official rom, but it's okay, I saved it as another form of backup smile.gif

A nandroid backup is a function of the Recovery, not the ROM. If you just want to perform a nandroid, then flash either CWM or TWRP RECOVERY.

Assassin is a custom ROM that allows you to customise almost every part of the installation process, ie choose kernel, choose frameworks, install bloatware or not, default launcher grids etc.

If you haven't already, please also read post 6.
*
I understand that. I rooted and flashed CWM. But before I can do a nandroid, aren't i suppose to keep my phone just rooted, with recovery and everything else stock? Be it rom or kernel and etc?

I'll read more about the assassin. Really thank you for your effort in guiding me.

By the way, your home screen really look like a newspaper, so many columns. Haha.

Now....something that looks to be credible on Note 3

Alleged Galaxy Note 3 photo pops out, revealing the battery

Way too angular on the corners......however does this mean that there can be a difference in the back cover material?

And why does it look like there are 2 sim slots and 1 sd card slot? What's the covered slot in the middle for?

how big is the screen size? hopefully it can face off with the experia z ultra.

anyone selling note 2 to get note 3? brows.gif

have anyone come across phone's overall volume suddenly cut down like say 50% to 70%?

hmmm, I'm sure I didn't tweak anything as I was playing game at my normal volume level and while playing, it just cut down and no matter what I try also I can't fix it and not sure what's the problem.

the only mod I did today was installing the noozxoide oize and applying this app's music effect only.

anyone has any idea?
