Some guy on G+ had originally prepared some kind of "goodbye Note 2" letter but it seems he thrashed it and wrote this instead
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxmrHYTVshf...hl=en&forcehl=1 5.7” 1080P Screen This was by far my largest disappointment with this announcement. The community(s) have been asking for months for 5.9” or 6”, and we got neither. I am more than happy with my 5.5” screen and have no trouble typing e-mails, taking notes, excel spreadsheets? Unless you have original Note, I do not see the justification to upgrade (or have HUGE hands and trouble typing? As for 1080P, who here can REALLY tell the difference? And if you can, how many movies to you really watch on the Note 2? And honestly, the few times I have, I never watch a full movie on airplane, 3 shots of Jack Daniels and I fell asleep! I did it at home ONE time, but I only did it because I could and it was hooked up to TV! Still, this point does not justify my money. 13MP Camera with NO Image Stabilization? I take some pictures, yes. Its not what I do professionally and I don’t get paid for it. I have not blown up a 8X10 photo for anyone in 10+ years. If I take a photo of your wedding or graduation that you like and want hard copy, go to my google photos, right click, save to USB stick, and go to Wal-Mart and blow it up yourself. I was happy with my 2MP Tilt phone some years back. Not to mention, any photos you take over a certain size and upload to google goes against your 15GB of free storage! I checked months ago, 8MP is 30% more than that limit. Stabilization would have been nice, but like I stated, I don’t get paid because I take nice photos. This in my opinion, does not justify upgrade, even if you have original Note? 2.3Gzh Snapdragon Quad-Core Processor. I am more than happy with the processor I have on Note II. And from the test I have done, I have not seen anymore than 2 of those cores over maybe 25% and any given time, and the phone works fine? 3GB of RAM (2.5 useable) does not really really impress me. I have a lot a crap open at any given time, Samsung did this to keep Google happy. Someone direct a post the other day on Google Play and why Google is slow with new releases. They don’t have to do a new release of Android, They just upgrade Google Play with new crap, OTA and bypass the carrier specific releases. 3GB gives Google more room to load bloatware the runs all the time behind the scene. Now if you’re a hardcore gamer (I have been around the world 4+ times in 6 years, and I have met 2 and they get paid for it?) then this processor and the screen might be justified. To me, no. S-Pen Some new functions and that cut-&-paste, and the “Air”. Nice gimmic, but most of what they showed off, I can already do, just not as fast. Not to mention, they shortened pen, I like mine. Android 4.3 Again, not impressed. Some new features, but nothing mind boggling to me. And give it a month or so, Note will have 4.3 and if not, root and flash! I personally don’t follow the 4.2 rumors anymore and have not even rooted my phone. This is the first time in years I have not rooted and flashed a phone. Again, this was not one of my “make or break” points for upgrading, but oh well. Leather Back I guess this is nice for some. I see a lot of people state phone slipped out of their hands and the back is cheap (and the cracked screen too) 99.99999% of the time, the back case is on the phone and I have not dropped a phone in……….cant even remember!! Nice, but if you have Note 2 and this is your complaint, plenty of after market backs (with colors) out. 32GB or 64GB Internal Memory I have 10GB of usuable on Note II and I’m using 7.5GB. I have a 64GB card and the only thing on that is 4 weeks worth of my weekly phone backup. When I do house cleaning, I usually blow away pitures and video. Why? Everything I have is on Google Drive. EVERYTHING!! Pictures are not only sent to Google, but my Desktop at home with 1.5TB internal SSD and that is backed up to 2.5TB external. If I need a work document, book, manual, whatever. I download it to phone, work on it, save it to Drive, blow it away. I have no problem with the Bigger is Better, but not justified. ============================= I find the dude whiny on some points, and some are first world problems. Well, I am still keeping the Note 2, and likely getting the Note 3 after the reviews are in. |

QUOTE(Speed-Demon @ Sep 6 2013, 01:40 PM) hi fellow NOTE II users.. just wondering if any one knows how to make the toggles in notification panel appear in 2 rows, instead of 1? I googled but no luck.. Stock ROM is only 1 row. You need a custom ROM with the 23-toggles mod or something. Or root your ROM and install Simplistic framework (I can't recall since I don't do it).![]() If you do not wish to root, install Notification Togglss by j4velin and add whatever you want on 2 rows. |

QUOTE(alexng2208 @ Sep 6 2013, 02:51 PM) my dilemma, If you want you can continue and make the chart even more epic !!!seeing all the awesome things i can do with the SPen on TW, i am so sorely tempted to go back to TW after being on CM10.1 then 10.2 if i do go back, how do i make TW feel at home? can i change the dpi easily via build.prop? which ROM is one you'd recommend since i cannot refer to the fantastic work by joytest anymore due to newer ROMs coming on board HOW HOW HOW and i also want the AOSP lock screen Anyway XDA now has the DevDB which essentially performs the same function of ROM tracking, so the manually maintained chart is obsolete. |

It is very rarely someone gets what you are trying to say.Brevity in English is the soul of wit, but if you are brief to the point of seemingly random strings, then that's surely not wit. Please form full long sentences and think about your sentence before you post. |

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Sep 7 2013, 03:18 PM) Mate, your observation is a long time in coming. For some to either gain attention or to increase post counts, great lengths will be gone to even to the extent of making one look silly to no end. Constructive postings will still be alright but alas they are not which can be annoying, to say the least. I did tell him off a couple of times. I've mostly ignored his posts, but lately it's getting a bit too much. |

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Sep 7 2013, 03:26 PM) I have chosen to turn a blind eye long time ago to such posts not just by him but by a few others as well. Not worth the unnecessary 'stress'. That's why I seldom post nowadays. Life has improved since then. Get a Note 3 then. More productivity tools to spice up your life |

QUOTE(kevyeoh @ Sep 8 2013, 08:34 PM) Hi all... my dotter accidentally deleted a video from the sd card from my note 2... I tried a few recovery software but doesnt seem to be able to recover the lost mp4 file... You should run the recovery software on your card in a normal sdcard reader and not while in the phone. It should work.Any help? Thanks |
