QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 4 2013, 11:34 AM) I have yet to understand why so many users so worried about status must be normal too?? I never bother with such stuffs If so concerned don't even bother to root n flash custom stuffs Than start pulling haiirs how to get status normal I always preached if you guys if you want to tamper with your phones forget about warranty. All the tricks to root n normalized system is worthless as Samsung tech will still know n if he wants to void warranty he will n still can. Wise words from Uncle Benny. Its true, but probably some may feel paranoid yet curious to root their phones even though they are aware of the risks.

You must Only use Rom n kernel meant for Note2 ( make sure you get right one as we have N7100 n N7105 models). Using another phone model Rom/kernel will Hardbrick your phone

Using another phone model Rom/kernel will Hardbrick your phone Yes, I now understand the risk, luckily I haven't do anything yet. But please pardon my ignorance. I've been trying high and low trying to find the latest stock kernel for note 2, I don't know if I should use the word latest, I guess there is right. Would highly appreciate if you can show me as to where I can download that kernel. I'll just need to reflash the stock kernel from my perseus currently to perform a nandroid before reflashing perseus back again. I'm already rooted on stock rom but custom kernel. Thank you x100.

QUOTE(joytest @ Aug 4 2013, 11:28 AM) There's a Brightness setting in the stock browser, don't know if it's independent of the main brightness setting or not. I'm on stock rooted, and don't care about status normal since I won't do an OTA. If you're on a CM ROM, why do you even want "Normal" anyway? I just want to try something that you posted in 1st page. Is it wrong? QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 4 2013, 11:34 AM) I have yet to understand why so many users so worried about status must be normal too?? In my cases, it won't be Samsung tech looking at my phine since I bought an AP set. Warranty is bound to the shop I think. That is why I try to make it as Normal as possible. But I understood what you stated there. Thanks.

I'm on stock rooted, and don't care about status normal since I won't do an OTA. If you're on a CM ROM, why do you even want "Normal" anyway? Well , 2 words to describe such users ( general statements , not intended for anyone unless u buthurt ) , kiasu and kiasi . Other ppl root it , they also wanna follow and try to remove this and that and try out ( kiasu ) but at the same time , don't wanna lose / scare of losing warranty ( kiasi ) . . . . . Little did they realized , even Chanfire said before during SGS3 period , he failed to locate the internal counter for the status and I guess he didnt till today or else there'll be a method available already . So , good ahead , mod your status to normal and crack your head trying to do so along the way . Bring it in to samsung , 1 plug from their device into your phone and all your "hidden" status is out . Also , have u guys ever wonder why Samsung changed their policy recently to rooted phones void warranty ? Before this , rooted , CM9 or CM7 roms in the phone , it's still covered as long as it's within my warranty period . After SGS2 , they changed to policy when SGS3 was launched . Reason is , they spent 2 much time repairing bricked , corrupted files , etc as new rooted users messed up their phone badly . Some to the extend of over clocking till the phone's internal was faulty This post has been edited by Noobi3: Aug 4 2013, 01:30 PM

If you are rooted any knowledgeable person will know even if your status is normal so if u send it to the tech they will know anyway.

Travel Advisory (JAPAN !!!) Make sure you secure your bluetooth pairing pin...... http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/08/03/an...-vulnerability/» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Android Bluetooth Exploit For Japanese Toilet Brings New Meaning To The Word "Vulnerability"
Imagine, if you will, that you've just checked in to a hotel in Tokyo for an extended vacation. Weary from the long train and cab rides from the airport, you make use of the bathroom, noting the famously futuristic facilities adorning the electronic toilet. As you take care of business, you hear a laughing, sniggering sound from the other side of the wall - clearly someone in the next room is having a good time. All of a sudden, you are having a very bad time indeed, as a jet of water unexpectedly invades your nether regions. A peal of laughter erupts from the other room, just as the eruption in the toilet ceases.
This nightmarish scenario is probably being enacted all over Japan this weekend. Software security firm Trustwave has published some interesting information on the Inax Satis series of Bluetooth-enabled toilets, namely that they all come with the common PIN code of "0000" hardcoded into both the device and its companion app. This allows anyone with the My Satis app and a handy Android device to control any of said toilets at will... including the bidet (cleaning water stream) and blow-dryer functions that are a staple of Japanese bathroom fixtures. Malicious users could close the lid, or flush the toilet continuously. It will also allow anyone to access a detailed record of, ahem, deposits. Say what you will about the FBI and NSA, but even they generally draw the line at bathroom habits.
According to the published security advisory, Trustwave contacted the manufacturer three different times over the last two months to try and warn them of the inadvisability of a wide-open toilet authentication system, and received no response. It's pretty hilarious that there are toilets with companion apps in the first place (although not all that surprising that they come from Japan). But leaving the Bluetooth control open for anyone to access speaks of a security mindset that can only be described as "shitty."

Don't go on a wild goose chase. I got the perseus kernel from xda, was directed from uncle benny's swap memory blog. thank you. I will read the post 7 carefully again. I don't have to flash the rom again just to get the stock kernel right? do I have to? hmm... okla, I better read first, or else I'm gonna get bombard again.

Download it and keep it safe. If your phone have problem and need to send for warranty..use/flash this official stock firmware after you TriangleAway your phone. For official stock kernel..you can use MobileOdin to flash the kernel only from that official stock firmware.

Hi all,
I noticed that for my wifi icon, the download orange arrow and green upload arrow is always ON... means there is download and upload activity ongoing...
Any idea to check what data is being transferred or which app running it?
I am worried some app is leaking my privacy info...
Thanks.

You can check how much the data traffic/transfer but I don't think you can monitor what been transferred. Try Traffic Monitor or My Data Manager app.
