Hello, I am new here. Got my B full license 2 months back, after riding a moped for 3 years. I am torn between the 2013 er6f, Benelli TNT600, CBR500r and possibly XJ6. Any suggestions for me? Budget below Rm40K. But I think most probably will go with CBR500r if it offer the ABS version. It really makes me wonder, why ABS is not offered as an option in most bike in Malaysia.

i would stay away from the benelli imo. by looks, the er6 gives u better quality materials than the benelli lolz. I'd go with the er6 or the xj6
*
Thought of that as well, but by the looks of the spec, it looks quite tempting and affordable, especially it is an inline 4.

I agree..30k for an inline 4 with a 600cc engine capable of producing 82bhp @11k rpm is just something i would stay away from too..id rather play "safe" and go with the ER6 altho its a parallel twin..but knowing that it will serve well biggrin.gif just my thoughts on it  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

After hearing so many advices from seniors in >500cc bike field. I think I will take the TNT600 off the list, cause after all I might want to upgrade one day, to my dream bike Suzuki GSXR.

GSXR is NOT a beginner's bike

don't buy it if you have zero experience. u will crash and hurt yourself.
*
yeah, I know that, that's why I am planning to get some experience on bike like er6 or cbr500r first. Speaking of crashing. I had crashed 2 times on a cub for the past 3 years. 1st time due to slippery road with sand. 2nd time being someone making an illegal turn. KL's road.....

a 600cc supersport with 100+hp on tap crashing is totally different story. losing a limb or two is considered lucky...  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Got it, totally understand that, will slowly upgrade. I don't wanna die that fast yet. But one thing I really don't understand, why most bikes that were being sell here in Malaysia rarely offer the ABS option?

ABS options cost anywhere between 2 - 5k extra. and with out very high tax for high powered bikes, those costs add up quickly

which doesn't appeal to the market very well

oh, ok. great info and feedback guys. thanks for all the info and feedback. I think I gotta go and test ride the bike first, I think for now is either CBR500r or ER6f. However, I did inquire a youtuber who previously own a 11'er6f and currently own a CBR500r. The following is his reply: "Hello Mate, thanks for the query. Okay, I have had 2011 ER6F for two years and initially I just loved the bike however in the last one year I only did 70 miles (first year I did 3200 miles). Reason being the bike wasn't comfortable enough on longer runs. Also, it is bit on a heavier side when it comes to traffic filtering. I do a lot of town commuting and motorway riding as well. The main challenge was the fuel consumption. ER6F manages around 40 MPG vs CBR's 79MPG. If you like er6f's looks then I must say you should have a look at the CBR. True sports looks. CBR's gears are true surprise, smooth as silk. Coming to breaks, it has ABS and it has a quick ABS (NISSIN) vs er6f's standard ABS. I feel safer on CBR. The biggest issue with er6f are the mirrors. You cant see any thing but your shoulders. ER6f's seat isn't comfortable at all. There is a lot of vibration even in the latest model. Honda is reliable, low maintenance, new technology, long service intervals and since the bike is narrow, its easier to filter through and control at low speeds. Best bit for me is the fuel consumption in this day and age. Rest is completely up to you my friend. It all comes down to personal preference."

u could get a used ER6F for good price around 30k.

just a word of caution from our friend who i assume has inside info the CBR500

Oo, better wait for more review about cbr500 first. However, don't really 1 thing about the kawi er6. I was trained on a 11'er6n, whenever I stopped the bike after some riding, the heat from the engine is directly displace on my feet both side. It is not something serious but, it will be quite annoying to have a half cooked leg after countless of red light and traffic stop in KL. Had this issue been addressed by Kawasaki in the latest model?

all bikes have the same issue  laugh.gif

try riding air-cooled engined bikes first then you know that the er6f is actually quite "cold"  wink.gif

Found this two reviews about CBR500R, sounds pretty good. I don't need a bike that can shoot up to 200km/h. I just need a comfy bike that suitable for daily commuting in congested city road. And some weekend fun that doesnt require much speed. Lol... http://rideapart.com/2013/05/rideapart-rev...-honda-cbr500r/

Hi, I wanna ask, had anyone saw these ads in mudah before? http://www.mudah.my/KOMINE+RIDING+KEVLAR+jeans-26126435.htm
http://www.mudah.my/Komine+Jacket+JK+021+T...ck-26361434.htm
The komine jacket and pants that this seller sell seems to be cheaper then other reputable seller like DC bikers and others seller like CT Bike station and etc. Btw, my question is, could the products that this seller selling is non ori stuffs? Is there anyway to verify the authentication of the products? The seller claimed that, the products that he is selling is 100% original, but with the price cheaper than the others, make me felt kinda suspicious and worry to buy.

True, some of the built quality of replica is really not on par. But, some of the ori stuff also doesn't last that long sadly. I bought an ori A'stars SMX 2 Air Carbon glove 2 years back, now some of the leather area started to worn off and the goatskin area near the thumb had torn and formed a small hole. So, I'm looking for a short cuff glove that is suitable for daily commuting (waterproof is a plus as my bike is my main transport) with a budget of below Rm300. So, anyone has got any recommendations?

Hi, Anyone have had any experience with inner waterproof liner? I am planning to buy this (JK-044 Air stream Mesh Jacket IONEA) that has an optional inner waterproof liner, as I don't feel like carrying two jackets with me (riding jacket and rain coat). Which one would you suggest? Carry two two jackets? or buy the inner waterproof liner? And I don't really get the concept of inner waterproof liner as well, does it means that when you are riding with the liner while raining, your outer jacket will be soaking wet?

Mesh jackets are made for maximums air intake and protection. However they are not waterproof. So they give you an inner liner. This inner liner is the one that will keep the water out, so your outer jacket willl sure get wet.

Now comes the technology part. Some inner liners are made from pure plastic, just like your rain coat. If you wear this inner and jacket together everyday, going work and all, you will trap all your body hear and sweat inside. Not so good. So usually you ride with mesh jacket, then if you see rain, then you put in the inner liner.

Some more expensive liners are breathable, so it allows air to come in but blocks the water. These are quite ideal but expensive.

So the choice is your, ultimately its all down to cost and yoour riding style. If you have a box n your bike, buy a large rain coat to go over your mesh jacket. Just my 2 cents. Cheers.

I am afraid, Ninja 250r Special edition's arrow exhuast had been mistaken by the JPJ as aftermarket exhaust. This poor chap had been asked to do an inspection, because the JPJ dudes that block this poor chap didn't believe that the arrow exhuast came with the bike from the factory. However, this is a pretty old blogpost tho. http://darisungaiderhaka.blogspot.com/2012...at-operasi.html

Guys..may I know where can I find a decent Fullface helmet?

Budget around 300-450..

I saw HJC brand around RM380 but it's hard to find here (Cheras)..
*
Try CT bike station at Jalan Metro Pudu (Fraser Business Park). I think they have LS2, SOL and HJC. Last time I went there I saw a HJC helmet around your budget, below 400. But I won't recommend you buy any other things from them i.e. jacket, gloves and all, cause is a little bit overpriced. I would recommend you buy other gears from DC bikers and have them ship to you.
