same feeling here! I am waiting anxiously and the feeling is not so right..

will the next fasa be in next month? Hmm...oh, btw, those are shortlisted for the upcoming interview told that the final result will be only known on 31st dec 2013!

Almost 85k applicants for 100 PTDs. 

Do you guys think the lucky 570 that are being interviewed is the total number? Or just first phase?

Did you passed the previous exam on 13.04.2013 or are you from a previous batch but failed the interview's part (last year)? My friend who failed the interview part last year is not included in this phase too.

is it okay for someone to not attend the interview? will one get blacklisted?

stat body career progression might be slow due to being a closed service. and also chances of moving around is none.

i rekomen u accept ptd post and go thru the 1yr course. 99% u wont fail unless some major discipline problem. considered you're edi in the service once u accept the offer.

PTD is a very prestigious job in the public service. Who knows you may end up becoming the next KSN (Ketua Setiausaha Negara) ?

PTD- gonna took around 10-12 years to reach grade 52

Academician- 4-5 years gonna secure grade 51 , another couple years of research and well impact journal---tittle Prof
if i on ur shoe...i gonna choose PhD. maybe it gonna have mental endure for 2-3 years  (but since u already got master then Phd not so much killer for u ) but much better than mental and physical endurance during kadet PTD

If u prefer academic line, go for PHD. But that also Xtentu pass right.
If u want management and paperwork job, go for PTD but promotion is damn slow now. More than 5yrs to m44. Bout 10yrs kot to m48. U do the maths la.
PHD vs DPA, I can say DPA is much easier la with just countless events to organize and physical modules. PHD really requires full concentration using ur brains and intellect. Ur choice. If it was me, and if I'm so into academic line, I'll become a professor.

alrite back to topic..PhD vs PTD is indeed quite a dilemma.

Having been in research line for more than 5 years, and got both opportunity now then i understand the decision to be made.

To cut it short:

PhD: If your research topic now IS YOUR PASSION and there is continuity  from your undergrad or master study/or at least the field you are really interested in, and you got offered scholarship to do, or good finance support, or got offered PhD offer by good/pretigous Uni or good supervisor (at least easy to average to pass) by all means go for your PhD..route to DS51 will be faster, and in 5-10 years you can get DS54 (Assoc Prof) or even JUSA C (Prof) if you are sharp enough..

PTD: All the above provided that you are really sharp and top in your field, know how to do research, and type that can focus on your narrow research field for the whole of your life..not to mention labwork and lab/research/student management and also passion to teach until you die.. hehe
ELSE..go for PTD..it is currently the highest and fastest gomen servant route..aside from lecturer and dr lar..

i called spa/jpa, and the online results are credible..finger cross lets wait for the letter lor..

depending on their starting salary offer, 99% i am going for ptd..as i am more to management type, have been living in lab for 8 years..i think it is enough

if i am younger, got phd scholarship/offer before age 25-28 maybe i am going for phd..young minds are good for research..

but later in ptd u can do phd also wat, but half research half management ler..in 5-10 yrs most of ptd should hold masters degree at minimum, and top guns all PhD level..should be 

both have its own pro and cons..specific job requirements..and its own prestige..
