Is anybody shortlisted to attend the interview in December? Mine is scheduled on the 11th of December at 9.00am.

Mine will be held at SPA Jalan Cenderasari, Kuala Lumpur

Physical test? Did SPA mention that you are required to undergo the test in the interview letter? Usually for physical tests, it will be done under the PAC program. I remember attending the program 2 years ago at INTENGAH where I was required to run for 2km around INTENGAH's area. I believe for this time, there is no more PAC assessment, just the interview session, but I don't know about your case. I read somewhere on the internet that we have to do an essay test in English and BM before the interview session starts, but I am waiting for SPA to confirm about this. BTW, what time is your interview? Mine is on the 11th, too!

Mine is at 9am. This will be my second time attending this interview with SPA since I was not feeling well during the first interview and did not perform properly. Usually, they will ask you about the current issues happening in Malaysia such as GST, Budget 2015, etc, so you better read up on those issues. The most important thing is being honest. If you don't know the answer to the question, just apologize and say that you are unable to answer the question. Don't cook up your own answer because this is a matter of integrity and they will know whether you are trying to "kelentong" them or not. Next, they will ask you to introduce yourself in English and the rest will be in BM. Good luck!

On another note, there will be no essay tests for me as I have passed the exams last time, so I just need to attend the interview!

No, the starting salary is based on your degree. For masters, it will be RM2564.14. You sound like you have lots of experience to share for the interview session and I guess you will be in luck this time. But why do you want to leave the SG gov job? Not happy with the Singapore govt, is it?

Did they ask you about Budget 2015 and GST? Tomorrow is my interview and I don't know whether I can sleep well tonight....

Alright, just came back from the interview centre. The interviewers consist of a Tuan Haji and a representative from JPA .Too bad they didn't ask about GST but they mostly ask about how do you solve a problem in your department. So, the trick here is to know your job scope as a PTD officer. But since I came from an IT background, I answered how to solve the problem using my IT knowledge. Unfortunately, they wanted to know how do you solve the problem from the PTD's point of view. So, Tuan Haji corrected me in that area and mentioned that I need to study the reports of all the govt departments and their KPIs. Besides that, they asked me about how do I conduct a research since I took up Research Methodology in my university. Here, I got stuck and was almost speechless, but I attempted anyway. The conclusion is your role as a PTD is not just about coming up with policies and implementing them, it is more than that. So, it looks like I was not successful this time.

Mine was at Cenderasari. It was 50% English and 50% Bahasa.

No.7 is totally bullshit. SPA will never ask this type of question.

I remember attending a pre-interview talk by a SPA officer. She said that we will be attending two courses; Diploma Pengurusan Awam (9 months) and Diploma Pentadbiran Awam (3 months).

The result is already out for M41? I thought the results will be out on Feb 16 as stated in the interview letter?

Are you sure it is for M41? Can you paste the results here?

I think it is a system glitch because the result is not out yet. You can either call them or send a ticket to SPA about this issue.

PTD is a very prestigious job in the public service. Who knows you may end up becoming the next KSN (Ketua Setiausaha Negara) ?

The word prestigious here is a subjective matter. I say it is prestigious because you get to plan and implement the policies. I did not say anything about fast promotion. Promotion is based on seniority in the govt sector.So that's why some may take up to 10 years to get promoted or will not even get it because the other person who is holding the post may keep it until he/she retires.
