QUOTE(syafiq01 @ Dec 2 2014, 06:05 AM) Hi Guys, Physical test? Did SPA mention that you are required to undergo the test in the interview letter? Usually for physical tests, it will be done under the PAC program. I remember attending the program 2 years ago at INTENGAH where I was required to run for 2km around INTENGAH's area. My Interview is scheduled on 11 Dec 2014 at Jalan Cenderasari. Just a concern on ujian fizikal since I think there's now way we can have a test run there. The road is busy and Lake Garden is full with people in the morning. Btw, do you guys have a tips for the interview? Sharing is caring Thanks! QUOTE(syafiq01 @ Dec 2 2014, 04:11 PM) Hi @danny_rocker Mine is at 9am. This will be my second time attending this interview with SPA since I was not feeling well during the first interview and did not perform properly. Usually, they will ask you about the current issues happening in Malaysia such as GST, Budget 2015, etc, so you better read up on those issues. The most important thing is being honest. If you don't know the answer to the question, just apologize and say that you are unable to answer the question. Don't cook up your own answer because this is a matter of integrity and they will know whether you are trying to "kelentong" them or not. Mine is scheduled at 4pm Btw, just confirmed with the SPA Officer on the Ujian Fizikal thingy. He told me either on the email they sent, is it stated for us to bring extra clothes or shoes for fitness. if no, it means that no need and in my case, it is not stated, so no need to bring sport shoes etc and by saying that, it means that no running or fitness test. The officer told me to be there as you are going for a normal interview. haha! do you have any tips for this interview e.g. the question they gonna ask or the their favourite question as this is my first time interview with gomen. On another note, there will be no essay tests for me as I have passed the exams last time, so I just need to attend the interview! This post has been edited by danny_rocker: Dec 2 2014, 04:35 PM |

QUOTE(joe_devil @ Dec 4 2014, 05:43 PM) Mine is on 9 Dec @JB. No, the starting salary is based on your degree. For masters, it will be RM2564.14. You sound like you have lots of experience to share for the interview session and I guess you will be in luck this time. But why do you want to leave the SG gov job? Not happy with the Singapore govt, is it? I'm just wondering whether we need to write down the expected salary in our resume. Also, any bro/ sis at lowyat can enlighten me on the salary range? Some background of myself: Education: Completed BSc in 2008 and obtained MSc in 2011. Work: Worked as a contract research officer in a gov lab between 2008-2010, moved to private in 2011 and joined the SG gov since Dec 2012 til now. Achievement: published a few scientific papers, gave presentations at local/ international workshops. BTW, I've attended 3-4 interviews with SPA (M41, DG41, Q41) but all not successful .. LOL. QUOTE(joe_devil @ Dec 9 2014, 08:55 PM) Come back to update my interview session. Did they ask you about Budget 2015 and GST? Tomorrow is my interview and I don't know whether I can sleep well tonight.... Q1 - Why you want to leave SG gov since it's a good pay job? Q2 - Then why you leave Msia to join SG gov at the beginning? Q3 - Let's say you are the PTD from Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment, handling the Cameron Highland case (luckily I read the news before), what suggestions you will give to the PM? Q4 - Let's say you are the PTD from Ministry of Foreign Affair, handling the objection from SG gov on Johor land reclamation work. Give 3 recommendations on how you will deal with SG gov? The interview took around 20 min, which I think was quite fast. I'm the second candidate, the first one (from CUSTOMS if not mistaken, like in his 40s) took about 40 minutes. There abt 20+ candidates at my side. |

Alright, just came back from the interview centre. The interviewers consist of a Tuan Haji and a representative from JPA .Too bad they didn't ask about GST but they mostly ask about how do you solve a problem in your department. So, the trick here is to know your job scope as a PTD officer. But since I came from an IT background, I answered how to solve the problem using my IT knowledge. Unfortunately, they wanted to know how do you solve the problem from the PTD's point of view. So, Tuan Haji corrected me in that area and mentioned that I need to study the reports of all the govt departments and their KPIs. Besides that, they asked me about how do I conduct a research since I took up Research Methodology in my university. Here, I got stuck and was almost speechless, but I attempted anyway. The conclusion is your role as a PTD is not just about coming up with policies and implementing them, it is more than that. So, it looks like I was not successful this time.

QUOTE(shahrilrz @ Dec 15 2014, 10:27 AM) Here are the questions but please remember that not all candidates will be questioned in similar fashion.... No.7 is totally bullshit. SPA will never ask this type of question.1. First question: Relates to geography 2. What is the name of the YDPA? His deputy? 3. What is the name of the ministry which controls land matters? The name of the minister? 4. What are the components of the Parliament? 5. Duties of PTD. 6. What will you do if you are appointed? 7. Who do you vote for in the last election? 8. Why should we appoint you? |

QUOTE(monara @ Dec 25 2014, 12:09 PM) i heard that the kursus pentadbiran awam duration is 6 month. What others courses will take place for other 6 months. I remember attending a pre-interview talk by a SPA officer. She said that we will be attending two courses; Diploma Pengurusan Awam (9 months) and Diploma Pentadbiran Awam (3 months). QUOTE(lucifer_666 @ Jan 27 2015, 09:42 PM) got the job. but i just reported for duty in another govt statutory body few weeks ago. PTD is a very prestigious job in the public service. Who knows you may end up becoming the next KSN (Ketua Setiausaha Negara) ? gotta think hard whether to jump ship or stays... darn its hard to make decision. have been unemployed long enough while waiting for my convocation last year, and now these job offers came almost at the same time... if we can choose our placement upon finishing the cadet-ship, maybe, just maybe its worth the try. else, would prefer to remain where i am now... |

QUOTE(deepan84 @ Jan 28 2015, 10:31 AM) mega misconception. no more prestigious. in fact we dunno if the nxt KSN gonna be a PTD or not. policy changes over time.. like how KPM's KSU II is a former prof. The word prestigious here is a subjective matter. I say it is prestigious because you get to plan and implement the policies. I did not say anything about fast promotion. Promotion is based on seniority in the govt sector. So that's why some may take up to 10 years to get promoted or will not even get it because the other person who is holding the post may keep it until he/she retires.if u think promotion fast like last time, pls throw that thought outta the window. 5yrs pun belum tentu can naik pangkat. but the specialty of ptd is the wide area of job scope. u can choose alot of fields to work in. |

To those who are selected as PTD, please be a good government servant. Don't be like this douchebag:
