my IV is on 31/12, at my hometown. Yes, there will be a physical test. Btw, is it true that we are required to run for 2.4km under 14 mins? *gotta start training now*

Hi guys, yesterday I went for the PTD exam and interview at Block C SPA Putrajaya and here are my experiences:
Arrived at 7.40am and had to fill my name in a visitor's log book. If your session is on weekends, don't worry as there will be plenty of parking spaces outside the JPA courtyard. The location for exam depends on your LTD number found on the SPA letter. Mine was LTD 05. You will be directed to the respective floor to take the essay exams.

First is the BM essay followed by English. Don't worry too much because they are based on common sense. There will be 2 topics for each essay and you have to choose only one. Read how to write good factual essay. I took recycling and physical and mental abuse topics.

After you have answered the essays, you will fill in a form for the BMI test. That's it....then you have to go down to level 6 to get a number for your interview and....some of you might have to wait more than 2 hours for your turn. I reported at 11 and was only interviewed at 3.00pm. This is the most important part of the recruitment exercise and expect the unexpected....the interviewers will give you any questions they want. I read about the GTP and ETP...etc but they didn't question me on that. Memorize the names of ministers including the Agong and His Deputy.

I had my interview this morning. The chairperson asked me how can I stand out of 528 candidates. His questions really tested my critical thinking skills. My preparation (from Forum/FB/Google) weren't helping at all. There was only 3 of us (1 Malay,  1 Indian and 1 Chinese=myself) attended the interview session. We are female candidates. Good luck to my impromptu response. Good luck to the rest.

They will judge based on the suitability of you to be PTD with questioning your current job.

eg: If you are dealing with IT, they will ask how can it help? Like if you are asked to solve problems involving gov matters?

I don't know whether they will favour those who are able to justify/ argue or those who said yes and keep quiet/surrender when they question.

528 candidates for all Malaysia is it? Or just for your state?

i heard that the kursus pentadbiran awam duration is 6 month. What others  courses will take place for other 6 months.
After cadet, still has pass or fail, what happen to fail cadet, just being dropped?

well, its an academic post with an offer to sponsor my PhD level study, provided i can secure a place within a year. Therefore, there should be a promotion to DS51 upon completion (within the next 4-5 years). Granted, currently its a temporary post though, pending securing the placement and completion of the said PhD (upon which itll be converted into a permanent post).

and on the other hand, this PTD offer is a permanent post, yet it starts with M41. Climbing the pay-grade scale will take some time...

one is a gamble, taking chances with better outcome, the other a safer, rather slightly slower career progression...  

thus, the dilemma between PhD or PTD...
