Later sure got problem.
But seriously, this specs are really mouth-watering.
The first phone with 3GB RAM. This is crazy!

Celaka, as long as Samseng don't want to release Exynos source codes, no point buying Note 3 for custom lovers.

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Aug 16 2013, 07:02 PM) But from the way in XDA forum, it looks quite few only.Even Entropy512 and codeworkx recommend new users to buy Sony or Nexus if we expect good support. |

QUOTE(joytest @ Aug 16 2013, 08:51 PM) Apart from cm/aosp, personally I find all I need is rooted stock with xposed framework and a few mods. Mod yr own rom man. Yeah, I'm really disappointed with Samsung, not because of its build quality, but because of Exynos. And do not forget that when discussing the Note, it is about the stylus which I am really into. You seem to hold some bitterness against Samsung from the way you post, even in the note1 thread. The reason why I'm disappointed is because of custom ROMs. Yes, the reason why I chose Note is because of its stylus too, but I seldom use it. Anyway, I'm still happy with my N7000. Don't plan to change at the moment. Ok, back to the topic - Note 3. N9000 is the supposed model number for Note 3? That's a big jump from N7000 and N7100. |

QUOTE(WiLyi @ Aug 17 2013, 04:15 PM) Those are just rumored spec..nothing is confirmed. Although I myself hope for a bigger battery too, but who knows if Samsung is using a newer batt technology that can give better battery performance Just hope that Project Roadrunner is implemented on KLP 5.0.Then battery saving will be a breeze. |

Ok, let's back to the topic before we turn this thread into an Android discussion thread.
2GB RAM is more than enough actually. It's the TouchP*ss makes it lagging and eats lot of RAM. |

QUOTE(joytest @ Aug 21 2013, 01:25 AM) TW as you say is laggy on Note 1. On Note 2, it's actually pretty good, not that I use it either. I do not recall how to use TW since I always slap on Nova once I reset the phone. I feel no lag. Oh yes, of course you can install Nova or Apex launcher onto it.To say that TW uses more RAM at idle is probably correct across the board, so the fact remains that more RAM is beneficial. You either like the TW add-ons, or you don't. I mean mainframes used to have 1Mb of RAM and gawd that was fantastic. Then your desktop gets 640kb....nobody needs more than 640kb right? Look where we are now. However, seriously, if people don't like TW, change the launcher. This is Android, not the other magical locked down ecosystem where you can only get to change your phone casing. But not many people will do that onto their Androids. Yes, I've tested on Note 2 with stock TouchP*ss. It's not lagging, maybe due to its quad-core CPU and 2GB RAM. However, TouchP*ss is consuming extra RAM, and therefore Samseng is increasing its RAM. I don't see a necessity in this actually, but well, we end-users will rejoice because we got more than we deserved! I can see that computers are slowing down. Traditional computer RAM manufacturers are slowly moving towards mobile phone. Only if we can change our phone's RAM... This post has been edited by andyjyneo: Aug 21 2013, 12:29 PM |

QUOTE(WiLyi @ Aug 21 2013, 01:02 PM) Well, I have used before few HTC devices and also I have the note 10.1 with me and S3 with my sis. What I notice is that touchwiz uses more ram to keep the application in memory for your multi tasking purpose. Those day when I used the one x intenet browser and then open up the fb say for 15mins then when I try to open back the browser, all the taps have to be reloaded. But that's not the case with my note 10.1 and my sis s3. The reason why we need more ram is for multi tasking purpose. If you are given 2gb of ram and always paranoid to see it being occupied and have to kill apps constantly, then those unused ram is just wasted resources. Yes, I'm a custom ROM user too.Anyhow phones are just a device for we to use. Just choose which suit you the best. For me, if you ask, I would still prefer sense over touchwiz especially in their phonebook and smart dial management. Sense can joint few similar contacts for you but with touchwiz you have tondo lots of things manually. But I know I will root my phone after getting it so the custom ROM helps to fox most of my issue. And from s4 and galaxy mega I can see touchwiz also made some improvement in their smart dial system. Furthermore HTC can sync higher resolution fr fb to be used as caller id but Samsung can't. But is that can't be fixed? I used friendcaster to remedy the problem. All you need to do is to do aome research. I do agree not everyone will root their phone and like to flash custom ROM. So jz based on your own requirement and choose the best solution for you. Like what joytest mentioned, in android, you get all the flexibility you need. I'm not really affected by TouchP*ss or Sense problems. However, we are badly affected by unstable ROMs due to Samseng Exynos closed-source codes. Samseng made nice and attractive devices, but not softwares/apps. |
