The on going debates here are much more persuading.

Fruits have nothing much to bicker about anyways.

Uh well I guess fruit fans are content in their pretty walled garden.

For someone handy with a torx, why stick to fruit? tongue.gif

Observe the camera hole layout....it's S4-like....so it seems that the current generation of Samsung (Design 2.0) has a vertical layout for camera and led flash.

I wonder what Design 3.0 will hold hmm.gif

Popup Xenon flash???????

Can't be sure, but I recall Samsung ditched the rumors about finger print sensor in Note 3, unless that was just to hide the info and wanted to create some hype towards Note 3

Coincidentally I do hav a phone with a fingerprint sensor. It makes some stuff really good like access control for kids.

U know, last time I was super excited while waiting for Note 2.. Bought it on first day launch... But, I think the last 3 phone that I used have spoiled me.. IPhone 5,then HTC One, then XZU.. Now, when  I hold a Samsung galaxy phone,  the plastic feel makes me ewwwww.. sad.gif I totally don't have appetite on Samsung phone body construction anymore.. Feel like cheap things.. Thus, I really hope something from Note 3 to change my feels on Samsung device.. But I was not as excited as before..  But I will still check it out, as I love Note 2 features with the S pen especially.. Hope Note 3 will bring more features and with premium build quality.
*
I don't think it will be non-plastic. I can't change how you perceive the tactile quality of the product, but to me, a piece of technology is its internal beauty. External adornments are a plus but not do or die.

I pity anyone who hopes the note 3 design is gonna be drastically different than the renders.

Seriously, the only thing important now with smartphones is reliability. Whats the point of looking so awesome but have all kinds of software and hrdware issues? My note 2, for the past 11 months has been so god damn reliable in terms of stability and batt life.
These days im using 3G a whole lot more tgan before, and yet the up time is over 12 hours, which is definitely enough for a full work day. And it only got a lil wonky when i was experimenting with something a few months ago.

Really looking firward to another year with a new Note!! To hell with the stereo speakers of the Max lol. Not gonna sacrifice stability/reliability/quality of something i just cant live without these days.

Edit:Excuse my typos, using my iTouch which doesnt have swiftkey tongue.gif

Precisely, like what mydragoon mentioned in his "Is anything exciting" thread. smile.gif

So good looks cannot coexist with reliability? Would you also think pretty girls are unreliable? Food for thought.

There are good looking reliable phones... I think.
*
Let's not get into the functionality vs aesthetics war.

It is undeniable we prefer good looking people, and also good looking things. There was even a book or two written about it. However, we are dealing with a piece of technology, not a work of art nor decor, nor a hot chick/guy.

Technology's primary defining characteristic is functionality, therefore anything else is "non-functional". This is also not really anything to do with "interface" since it's just a large slab of glass with a shell, with virtual buttons to push. Every one that writes about materials talks about that intangible factor called "feel". It adds no functionality to the phone.

Strictly speaking, "reliability" is also non-functional, but it is a desirable characteristic, so it can be engineered to a specified tolerance level of reliability and before planned obsolescence sets in tongue.gif

However, for those die hards about "feel", get whatever makes you feel good.

IMHO, for its time, the Nokia N8 probably fits the "good looking" + "reliable" + "feature-full".

Best phone for its time.

Let spies up the day.

Samsung insider confirms finger print sensor in Note III

CODE
Now, a Samsung insider from Samsung R&D, India, confirms the existence of the fingerprint sensor on the Samsung Galaxy Note III. The insider also says that the Galaxy Note III will have a dual user mode which will use your fingerprint to open to your personal screen while an unknown fingerprint will allow the phone to open to the guest mode. Besides being a more secure way to unlock your phone, a fingerprint sensor will also make mobile payments safer.

What about you, good sir? I'm sure you can afford a couple as well.

For Note 1 users, this will be a good upgrade. Should be almost TRIPLE performance from the benchmark numbers.

BTW....THIS IS AN INTERESTING YEAR !!!!!!

A viable contender with ACTIVE DIGITIZER.....

http://www.slashgear.com/alcatel-one-touch...ector-04295967/

1.5GHz, 2Gb RAM, 6" FHD....

Also launching at IFA. It will be extremely interesting to see if the stylus is up to snuff, and this may be CHEAPER than the Note 3. Dual SIM will be icing on the cake.

Then the rest of the week will be full of reviews, hands on etc, and I would love to see the comparison of the Alcatel Hero to the Note 3.

Saw this last night but it seems that it needs a Samsung app. I think that's a bad idea since it will be proprietary.

Looking forward to see how fast this thread moves lol. Note 2 had like five threads before its official launch right?
*
No arrr....it was v1 for 2 months until the global launch sometime in September, then v3 when it launched in Malaysia.

This year will be slow since we are now spoiled for choice and I think many people have upgrade fatigue.

This is normal, so I guess we won't expect any ultra speed threads. I will be pleasantly surprised if we get off v1 by end of this week.
