QUOTE(un_id @ Sep 10 2013, 01:08 PM) of course it is, because its the latest flagship anyway, what the point to be the latest if not the best.. the only question is just for how long it will be on the throne? for this year, yes, it might be, because afaik there is no more unannounced incoming device for this year… but towards the end of this year, be ready for next year flagships rumours.. its never ending contest.. you know why i'm excited to see Alcatel One Touch Hero? its not about how powerful is the processor, but i'm glad to see more functionality coming for smartphone when manufacturer starts to think out of the box and making more hybrids.. thats what i really want to see, not just increase in number of processor cores and RAM.. I think we already come to a point that we have above sufficient processing power on our smartphones, but whats next? Z1, Ultra Z, LG G2, all this flagship but its not the latest with 3GB RAM. Why? Samsung monopolize all 3GB in the market?

QUOTE(oldKyoo @ Sep 10 2013, 01:09 PM) Not quite, that phone is highly customised, even with its architecture cores and their sole purpose. Almost to the extent of it being the iPhone of Android. but its still using the same Android right? Prioritization change for Android OS in MotoX?

MediaTek was the first with true 8 core iinm. Launched last month but not sure of availability.
Mutiprocessing is both os and program working together. Apart from some huge mpp servers in research, military and academia, commercial apps aren't all that great at multiprocessing. Adobe took a few versions to get their stuff mp enabled and so did the 3d software guys.
Os mp awareness with single threaded programs will still suck. I shall not name one example from a very large co.

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Sep 10 2013, 01:11 PM) but its still using the same Android right? Prioritization change for Android OS in MotoX? Yes it is using android, but it requires much more than just slapping a powerful soc onto a flagship device, something neither HTC or Samsung has done. That said, I do agree with you that that lag can be done away with a sheer amount of dedication, it just requires much more effort and we all know effort = higher costs.

Well, we have the hardware = 8 core Now we just need the support from OS = Google (I'm sure they have headcount to do this better)

Leave the troll alone. Let the product arrive and test it. If it lags it lags. If not they will bash the faux leather.
Still, screw Samsung if it does lag.....

S3 and note2 have the same tw version. There is some occasional lag on s3 but nothing major. Note 2 has no lag. S4 has reported lags but you're not going to die from it right? Note3 is expected to do away with those issues.
