i see you fail to understand my needs then create your own assumption. Its your choice we are talking about full workable computer not twist words. So since you insist show me the whole world using android computer or android phones then yes agree i will change my current computer to an android phone computer. Please recommended me the best model. Budget 5k

Need support for my dual graphic card for my two monitors, connectivity for my logitech z-5500D via optical out and run my games crysis 2, Resident evil Revelation.

Thank you sifu you da best

I did not twist any words. I said computer generically. You are referring to the x86 platform and in particular high performance computing for your needs. This does not change the requirements to take care of a computer wherein you need to maintain and back it up.

Nvidia has its own slides that put current ARM SoCs at least on par with the previous generation of consoles.

Even your digital camera is a computer where its cpu is designed specifically for graphics processing

I don't know whether this Project Roadrunner is actually a hoax or real.
If it's real, then let's hope that it'll be implemented on KLP 5.0.

I believe Google is working on something like this, but I don't think anyone outside Google knows enough about it yet.

Ok, let's back to the topic before we turn this thread into an Android discussion thread.
2GB RAM is more than enough actually.
It's the TouchP*ss makes it lagging and eats lot of RAM.
*
TW as you say is laggy on Note 1. On Note 2, it's actually pretty good, not that I use it either. I do not recall how to use TW since I always slap on Nova once I reset the phone. I feel no lag.

To say that TW uses more RAM at idle is probably correct across the board, so the fact remains that more RAM is beneficial. You either like the TW add-ons, or you don't.

I mean mainframes used to have 1Mb of RAM and gawd that was fantastic. Then your desktop gets 640kb....nobody needs more than 640kb right? Look where we are now.

However, seriously, if people don't like TW, change the launcher. This is Android, not the other magical locked down ecosystem where you can only get to change your phone casing.

Ah....spare CPU cycles put to good use.....

Qualcomm 800 floodgates open as Moto X loses its edge
http://www.slashgear.com/qualcomm-800-floo...-edge-21294495/

....Qualcomm built the same ability in to its Snapdragon 800 quad-core SoC. Instead of Google or Motorola needing to custom-fit a couple of extra processor cores in with the Snapdragon S4 Pro, Qualcomm put the whole shebang into one. That Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor is being employed on a wide variety of smartphones and tablets right this minute.

....This includes the LG G2, the limited-release Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A, and a set of leaked devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note III,....

.....So here’s what’ll happen: you’ll see Android devices of all kinds being revealed with “always listening” abilities tied to Google Now over the next few months. Devices already released with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor inside will receive and update that’ll allow this integration of the touchless control service sooner or later, and everyone will live in “OK Google Now” euphoria.

Today is 23 Aug....less than 15 days la.

I trust it will have some spec edge but the rest should be what we've come to know and love from the Note 2 and probably some ingredients from s4.

Huh? Note III has not even been officially announced/revealed yet, so how can there be any pre orders for something uncertain?

I think you better get a replacement first or something, it'll take probably end of the year to reach here (announcement in September)

Nothing wrong with choosing what you need.

For people who don't use s-pen and want large screens the xzu and g pro are nice.

Hi all bz day. Lively postings today, but the article from PA got pulled. ...

Plastic is fine, nothing wrong with it. IMHO glass back is prone to breaking like u see from other phones with such designs.

9 more days.... can't wait. I wonder how will telco plans be like, perhaps similar to s4 and note2 before it. Hope the surfmore plans will be good.

This is why we like +OPPO . Many manufacturers discourage device modification. If the device is designed properly, modification should never be an issue. Fastboot and manufacturer-provided update.zip files will allow you to flash back to stock.

The days of a phone being an object are over. They are full-fledged computers, capable of running the same software as a desktop. Forcing users to run stock firmware is not only limiting, but it us arrogant in the assumption that a cookie-cuttered phone will suit everyone's needs.

I can't say enough good things about Oppo. Instead of wasting efforts in a back-and-fourth lock/unlock war with the community, they bring to light the ways you can do what you like with your device. Of course, root IS the ultimate security breach.. But its also a development tool which allows you to clear data, simulate events, and use the hardware for development.

I would just like to say something about screen sizes. I think we all want 5.9" or more since Sony showed its hand with the 6.44" ZU. However that device has some issues with pocketability and flex due to its thinness.

I believe that for easy pocketability, something in the range of 5.5" to 6.1" would be the max for a normal male-pants pocket.

Even the guy who said he's laughing at 5.5" Note 2 users had written that the XZU is TOO BIG and he has to bring a SMALLER phone when he goes out....sooooo.

So I guess Samsung is playing it safe for pocketability by making a small increase in screen size, and still allows fairly comfortable one handed usage. Still, I can't help but have some disappointment at 5.68" only tongue.gif since 5.8" will mean better multitasking with multiwindows.

Ok...not as angular as the XZU. Still nicely pocketable.

Straight sides like the S4 probably allow it to be placed standing against a table better than curved sides?

I think he means Note 2's screen is not big enough.
Draw line got limitation due to its 5.5" screen.

Considering the difficulty of stylus use on the XZU, the user iAlien who managed to make the ID sketches on it is truly talented. I would have extreme difficulty drawing while keeping my hand above the screen.

Still, I don't think most people would consider making complex sketches on the XZU, nor the Note 2 or Note 3 simply due to overall lack of screen real estate. Waveweaver is correct that the Note 10.1 will probably be the best for freehand sketching.

Well for me I'd take pocketability over size, since I really hate holding things in my hands as it can get left behind.

Well all, refrain from other model bashing otherwise we get mods coming down on us.

All phones have their share of problems, although for Note 2 apart from SDS risk, there isn't much else. Hopefully Note 3 won't even have this problem.

I've also been following the active threads, and all these completely sealed sexy-look devices do have the risk of physical build defects, perhaps worse in some models.

As to unibody build with removable battery, I think the HTC One China dual sim model could have achieved it, but you cannot get it outside China. So I conjecture it's a matter of the marketing folks leashing the engineering folks.
