Hey guys,my friend and i just bought two airbrush sets 3 days ago.I was very very happy since the wait is finally over. Now waiting for my Createx to arrive from US.Atm using water colours
I'm still quite worry about the moisture trap thingy. The uncle said the moisture trap is inside the compressor, but i'm doubtful.I'm using the one with air tank btw.And to make things worst,I don't see moisture trap listed in the parts list of the compressor.Anyone know what will happen if there is no moisture trap??? The compressor is doing fine,it on and off after a few minutes, which can be annoying at first, but gotten used to it already. The noise is very quiet, quite like a fan.And if run for long time(30-1 hour),it gets quite hot,so i put a fan directly in front of it.No problems so far.And not to worry,it has an automatic thermal-shutdown.In a case when it overheats,it automatically shuts down. Now for the airbrush, nothing much to say. It's pretty good,i donnoe how good since this is my first AB.Mine is gravity feed,so it kinda blocks the vision a bit,but it's not a problem. The chrome plating is fabolous though,i love just looking at it.the spraying is quite predictable, the hardest part of ABing is knowing how much to thin the paint and how much PSI to use.I think that comes with experience and trial and error.Right now i'm practicing doing straight lines on a notebook for 5-6 pages a day. It's getting better and better each day. And oh,a tip i read about.Always turn the air on first(press down on trigger) and then only pull back for paint, then slowly push forward the trigger for stopping paint, and don't turn off the air until 1-2 seconds. If u stop the paint and air simultaneously, the next time u press the air,it'll splat some paint which might ruin your otherwise excellent work.Good luck guys. |

@ eehtsitna, where did you buy the moisture trap???Yeah, when open the valve at the bottom, can feel a bit watery but very chilly
@jy14,VA stands for Venus Art,it's in Petaling Street.Quite hard to instruct you to go.All i know is from the Pasar Seni LRT station, walk straight when u see the petaling street 'roof'(blue in colour),turn right in the junction then walk straight when u see the VA sign at the top of the shop. It's yellow in colour.Hope that helps |

QUOTE(eehtsitna @ Nov 26 2006, 12:02 AM) Sorry for the late reply guys! Yeah,an adress would be great. Thanks a lot And regarding the moisture trap. No it does not include a pressure regulator. Infact you do not need one since the one already install on the compressor is more than enough. And there are not any silica gel too. Hope this help. Ps: I will try to post a pic of the moisture trap once i found it in my pc. |

Btw guys, now i actually do think the compressor has a moisture trap already. If u see beside the tank,it has some sort of valve, and it looks very similar to any moisture trap. And as with moisture trap, the moisture needs to be drained out,and it works in a similar fashion as the one at the bottom of the tank.Hmmmm, maybe the uncle is right after all. What do u guys think???

mine looks like that, but with an air tank. And from what i read,if u use that compressor n u still spray water,it's because the motor is overheating.Btw,what do u use ur airbrush for???

QUOTE(ozak @ Nov 29 2006, 10:43 PM) This dryer is to further filter out the water completly. Just the air filter regulator won't be enough to filter out the water when the air temperature head up. Inside dryer is content chemical. The actual name is "Membrane Air Dryer". oh i c.But never see people use b4?? |
