hello sifus.. for quite sometime now, i have been interested in getting an airbrush and do paintings.. been reading up some materials, gathering infos and what nots.. so sifus, any of u use airbrush or know anyone that does? can recommend me a good brand to buy with compressor? how much would it cost?
would like a airbrush and compressor (based on what i read, this seems to be fundamental n good for beginner, plz correct me if im wrong # gravity feed # dual action brush # pressure gauge and pressure regulator # water trap # with tank (portable enuff ones)(might nid to take in and out of hse, dont have seperate workstation/garage) here are some questions bout things im doubtful of.. 1) the needle in the airbrush.. let say its 0.5mm, can i buy a smaller one and use it? for finer details.. 2) what paint to be used.. any specific brands to go for? i heard there is few types (acrylic, urethanes, people safe).. which is the best to paint let say metals(cars, pc cases too 3) airbrush can be used on all surfaces rite? most sites that i read mentioned that airbrush can be used on all surface 4) i read and watch videos on cleaning airbrush, it seems there is a stand to put the airbrush when not using(fill with bit water).. is this stand included or seperately sold? i tink thats pretty much my question |

U cant use different needle as it is design for the same nozzle... some ab came with detachable nozzle so u can change the nozzle and the needle..so the answer is still no..... 2. many type of paint...all are usable in any surface...just make sure the preparation and application are corrrent... most hobbyist use premix hobby paint such as tamiya's, mr colors' etc.... 3. yes 4. stand sold separately .... hope this help... |

if it's stuck, most likely cos the surfacer is not been thinned properly. surfacers are normally thicker, and needs more thinning to be sprayed smoothly..
what do you mean by take out everything? basically, just put thinner into the cup, and spray it till its clean |

I just wanna know if there's any airbrush artist/shop out there that's offering good airbrush painting. I need to repaint my doll (Taeyang) and I'm not gonna buy one airbrush just for the sake to re-paint one doll. So if any of u guys happen to be or maybe know someone who does, please contact me ASAP.

This is why I hate buying 2 parts separate from different dealer. I have been interested in starting self study airbrush painting for some time, thought today is a good day to go buy all the required stuff so I can finally get started.
I live in klang area, and since I have some un-finish business in kepong I thought I should prob get the entire set there. Went down saw this shop selling mid size air tank and compressor and they have all the stuff like air filter regulator, host but don't have airbrush. So after ta pau everything I ask the uncle would that 3 meter flexible air host be able to fit a airbrush or not, pointing at that picture I assume he knew what an airbrush is. He assured me that all connector are standard now a days and all airbrush can fit. So I went on to subang and purchase an airbrush, my mistake was I forgot to bring the host to the shop and test. bought the Tagore brand duo action 3.0 airbrush then go home happy thinking I gonna test it today. Both shop uncle also say standard, go home connect that time ... *******. The airbrush is like 1 size smaller, cannot connect and snap into the host head (the flexible air host come with a head snapper) . . . went to shop around klang and ask a few shop if they got sell something like a connector or host that can connect to the bigger head to the smaller airbrush gun or not all no clue how. So now I'm stuck with the standard 3 meter flexible air host and the smaller size airbrush that doesn't fit to the host. Anyone know where can I find any shop that sell a connector that can connect the smaller airbrush to the bigger air host ? I know those smaller air compressor + tank and host + airbrush for professional are a perfect match, but the price is so high for someone who is just starting out and self study for fun, that is why I decided to get the cheaper one and train for a while before I decide any further, one of my friend hand been using mid size air tank and normal size air brush b4 and say it's pretty good for starters, since noice is not a factor in my area so I decide to follow him, he's kind of busy this few months so I thought it's best not to pester him.
