bought my hasbro mp10 from toysrus. waited for quite sometime till they dropped the price to 489.90 and still in good condition
again, the risk is always there for the waiting game but for me if cannot get also nvm won't do any harm

we had a very big fight at home because she found out the actual price of my hottoys mark 5. all these while i told her each hottoys was around rm100-200. it was a really nasty one - almost going for a divorce. in the end i told her it's better for me to spend on collectables rather than something negative such as woman

but again rm10k in a month that was a very huge amount!

Just curious - why do some collectors keep their TF in MISB condition?

If for investment purposes I understand... but if you collect for fun, don't you get itchy to hold your TF and transform it at least once?
*
bro, everyone is different

i used to keep all my tf in misb condition till 1 morning... realized i spent so much money on them and yet never ever touch them. since that day no more misb for me. again different people sure different lah. some hardcore collectors out there even bought 2 similar sets; 1 for open & display and another 1 for misb

toy investment are risky for seller and buyers. a premium-ly priced toy still made mostly of plastic. Keeping them MISB untouched doesnt guarantee the quality inside wont deterioates.  It only look a few component to give way and its already cacat. Seller definitely wont open the box scaring value-drop. 10 years later buyer took a huge risk acquiring them at a higher price without knowing the latest condition of whats inside.

Real collector cherish their toys. Im sure the term cherish go beyond stacking MISB boxes and felt "proud" over the acquisition (and letting others know they own them all).

in fact it really happened to me before with the 1st reissue of takara optimus prime in year 2000. paid rm680 for it back then... desperate to own it so don't care about the price. when i was young, parents can't afford it so no choice lah. when i have decided no more misb for all my items, to my surprise during unboxing the takara optimus prime, all the rubber hose/parts in the box were deteriorates so badly and broken into smaller parts

With such TRU price.. tempted to buy Metroplex.... but now brainstorming on how to get it pass the front door. hmm..

Maybe I just transform him into a stool and say It's bought from Ikea.

remove all and try smuggle separate parts into the "ministry"
didn't have time to collect mine yet so not very sure how big and how complicated to smuggle smile.gif

all the sifus,

i have 2 questions here:

1. how's the quality for KO maketoys g2 laser op battle tanker?
2. any differences on the overall look if i don't have the original head from the original maketoys battle tanker?

tq

1. Expect KO quality. Can be fixed if you use nail polish to strengthen certain joints/ area.
2. not much difference.

a bit of loose balljoints here and there, but the case i make is, nail polish is cheaper than ori battle tanker
but overall look, looks pretty much the same, good for displaying, plastic have a bit of cheap feel but overall not much difference when displayed on the shelf, i'm very happy with my purchase

tq guys for the inputs smile.gif
hope to collect that set by friday

some KOs are reasonable, seeing as the originals cost a bomb, for a poorer collector like me, plus items like the battle tanker is most suited for display in only one pose, i have no complaints about this KO

to be honest this is my first KO. i'm getting this one purely for display purpose only

He's about 1 head smaller than the MP10.
