QUOTE(muaz9768 @ Aug 11 2013, 10:38 AM) Hey, i have some confusion here on changing custom ROM. anybody can help? 1. You need to wipe data (factory reset) in CWM before flashing pacman ROM. But wiping the data in CWM will NOT wipe your internal /sdcard directory, so all your photos, musics etc will be intact, but apps will be gone. You can use titanium backup to backup them.Currently I'm using Paranoid Android 3.94. 3.4.0 franco kernel. I want to change into pacman rom. 1. Will my data such as photos, musics will be wiped out after flashing new rom? 2. should i do something with the kernel first before flashing pacman rom? if yes, what is it? 2. no need, usually flashing a ROM will flash the kernel that comes with it as well. Just make sure that after you flash Pacman ROM, only use suitable kernel (JWR or JSS depends on pacman ROM is which one) |

Franco's latest test kernel which uses the new Nexus 7 (flo)'s ondemand method is quite smooth. Feels smoother than the usual interactive governor.
But not sure about battery drain yet. BTW, my friend wants to buy a new nexus 4, ori LG malaysia or US Google Play set also can, but must be new and hopefully cheap. Anyone got link to the cheapest deal (except satugadget, he doesn't like)? This post has been edited by zellleonhart: Aug 29 2013, 01:46 AM |

Touchwiz.. haha, replacing the launcher only changes your homescreen and app drawer. The Setting app, recent apps, stock apps (calendar, etc) are all fugly as hell. Unless you flash a custom ROM with stock android look.
Multi window is quite useful. But N4 has the infamous HALO. (Though you can flash non official PA on Note 2) One thing: N4 looks more premium |

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Oct 5 2013, 02:15 AM) yupe. I saw someone said the PA (4.3 above) the root thing not yet fix, so need someone to tell me double confirm it. that is why I still stay on 4.2.2. PA 4.3 Ver. 3.99 RC2 already have working root long ago. Just follow the guide on first page of PA thread.Ps. Just flashed PA 3.69 QUOTE(Ajiko @ Oct 5 2013, 08:00 AM) That is because you flashed a JSS kernel (now JLS). for PA, you need to use JWR kernel. Most kernels there provide both version. |

I didn't use any case for almost 10 months already, tried bumper and a thin "sand" case but don't like it.
Now using a Mercury brand jelly case, wow! So great to use this case, awesome quality and looks totally cool, nice to hold also |

QUOTE(Tamik @ Oct 8 2013, 05:05 PM) Hey guys, Don't go third party, go LG centre to fix is the best. Original parts at RM350 only, professional technician can do it in 15minutes.Anyone knows how to get front screen replaced in KL ? I checked OP's sticky posts and found that LG Service Centre @ Location: Level 1, Kelana Brem Tower 2, Jalan Stadium, SS7/15 can do the replacement for MYR 350 but 1. Official LG line for MY does not have price and does not know about stock availability 2. I was given a phone number to the LG's repair shop at above mentioned address but nobody picked up in 3 hours. I was in Lowyat on Sunday and visited 10+ shops regarding fixing my front screen. Prices varied from 350 (one shop only) to 750 (average being 500). But in the end each one said they don't have stock. Finally, I was able to leave my phone at a shop which they promised to do it for 350 by today but they said they didnt get stock and have no idea when they will be able to get it. Id much appreciate if anyone would be able to help. Call the LG hotline (1800-xxx xxx) that one, ask them to transfer your call to Kelana Jaya service centre (call during office hour) and ask them if they have stock for Nexus 4 front panel/screen. If have, ask when they open and go directly to their service centre. Bring your warranty card & receipt, if yours is not LG msia set, just need to pay extra RM30. Fix on the spot. hope it helps. |

QUOTE(TAGreptiles @ Oct 9 2013, 05:28 PM) Do you need to reflash back to stock rom and lock the bootloader? I'm having some issues with my power button and i want it replaced before my warranty ends. How long would it take? estimated? No need, they don't really care, because I sent mine to repair screen with custom ROM, the technician somemore asked me what ROM I use. (unless, you bricked it while flashing/software problem then I am not sure)PS: anyone knows if the Rm5 poetic bumper case is still available at Hotspot LYP or if the promo is on for Hotspot BSC as well? Better ask the service center directly, I haven't replaced my power button before. But the screen replacement will take 15 minutes. |
