Current Firmware: 14.1.B.0.471 improvement/fixed:

• Increase performance and much smoothness. My Antutu score increase from previous 30k to current 33k.
  
• Better stylus input now! You can touch everywhere you want now with pencil and responsiveness.
  
• Screen is touchable when your finger/palm resting at screen now! But not working with stylus-pencil.
  
• Still old UI without X-Reality support yet.
  

snapdragon 800 has few skus. One with HSDPA+ and another with LTE built in. You might need to check whether it is hardware or software limitation.

check the output of your charger

usually for smartphones it's 5v. but it some cases with big batteries, like note 2, companies will provide a charger with higher output. not sure whether it's the case for z ultra

The snapdragon 800 comes with several variation, but the 8974 model is the one that support the LTE base band

After reading yesterday comments about wifi badly draining I decided to use only wifi for all my Internet stuffs.  This is an update ( at least 90+% on wifi)  : surprisingly I record much better SOT vs 3G. 
At 50% battery usage SOT is 3.9 hours!!! I rarely used wifi at home due to its lower download speeds (P1 average 3500-3900 kbps)
Stamina mode always on, auto brightness, 3g on, autosync off, Bluetooth n gps off

No problem receiving mails ( most important)  n whatsapp notification.  I don't use Gmail
I am retiree. I don't need to be constantly updated with other notification.  my buddies all practically Sms as they don't use smartphones. ONLY one close buddy use Htc1. Even my wife doesn't. She use rm50+ simple Nokia only

I use Maildroid n it has never been an issue to receive notifications immediately once mail. Go test it yourself
Same experience too in my previous xperia z n present tablet xperia z for Maildroid
