QUOTE(joytest @ Jul 31 2013, 09:58 PM) Backlight died? Happened before to my other device. Stare closely at the screen, you may be able to see faint images of your app icons. If this is the case, backlight died.... force restart a few times see if it gets "fixed" The whole screen power off, i can't see anything on it. no light, no icon, nothing ...Well, for a brand new device and this to happen.... Force restart for the 1st time and it got fixed.... suspecting bug ... |

QUOTE(kaisergan @ Jul 31 2013, 10:08 PM) Some victim among the forumers now, i think you are the first one. If you follow this thread closely, i asked this question before. It seems like sleep to death as reported in taiwanese forum and chinese forum. Maybe update to latest firmware will solve this? Thanks pal. Updated the firmware ... will continue monitoring it and see if it occurs in these few days. Will report if it does. Finger crossed! |

For those who bought XZU earlier at Sony Center @ Penang Gurney Plaza before 1st August, i just called earlier and it seems like we are still entitled for the Raya free gifts, the staff actually asked me to drop by in the evening to collect that.
Nice service btw ! thumbs up~ |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 2 2013, 11:04 AM) I don't think so. Why don't you try it to assess. Where you got this idea the phone will be waking up while in pocket. You can even set this in the settings Tried this app recommended by unker. Works well, i turned off the proximity sensor and using only the gravity sensor to reduce the battery consumption. Worth a try .... [attachmentid=3566300] This is the app description : Description Using your phone often? Tired of the On-Off switching? This app turns automatically your screen off when you put your phone into your pocket or onto a table and turn the screen on when you take it out or up. No need to touch any button and you are ready to go. HOW IT WORKS: It monitors the orientation of the device through the gravity sensor. When your phone is pointing downward by its top, in a certain angle, it's likely to be out of use. In this situation the proximity sensor is activated to determine if it is covered. If yes, the screen turns off because probably you placed the phone into your pocket or onto a table. To keep the battery usage low the program turns on the proximity sensor only when it's really necessary. Moreover, when it turns your screen off and the proximity sensor is covered it puts your phone into deep sleep state to save as much energy as possible. MAIN FEATURES: - Pocket Sensor: Recognizes if your phone is in your pocket. By turning your phone below the angle you set, it'll prepare to turn the screen off. - Table Sensor: Detects your phone is lying on a table and turns the screen off. - Turn Screen On by Motion: If the screen is off and it's facing up the device can be woken up by any movements, for example lift up by hand. - Keep Screen On by Motion: It's a Screebl like feature but it's relying on the small movements you are doing by your hand while holding the phone. If small motions are detected while the screen is facing up the feature keeps the screen on because it can be suspected that the phone is held and probably you are reading something long. If the phone is steady the normal screen timeout will apply in any position you leave your device. - Tasker, Llama, Locale supported by plug-in. PS: Related to my previous post - XZU Charging Dock will be available next week @ Penang Gurney Plaza's Sony Center. |

The Gravity Screen Apps drain battery quite heavily. Been using the hp like normal for few hours after installation and it turned out to be in Rank 2 consuming 12% of the battery .... higher than Voice Call 11 % , Android OS 9%, Android System 5%....... Screen 48%
