My apprentice monk with 2.49aps would like to know if there is an attacks per second breakpoint that needs to be achieved for better Sweeping Winds proc.

Btw, what do you guys think about axe's instead of sword?

The main stat, cd & os Spear mainhand and 18.4% fear factor & ls EF offhand combo allows for the establishment of highest sheet dps.

Of course, don't underestimate the actual potential of a Won Kim Lau eventhough its sheet dps is much lower.

I miss fist weapon, but good fist weapon is very very rare...

I saw few 1200+ DPS fist weapon with LS + socket on sale at GAH.

Gameplayo
Activate DS -Quicksilver then followed by SW -Cyclone and perform BoH -IwL instantly. FoT -Thunderclap made it so easy to stick with your constantly feared target to get out of the heavily covered with elemental attack areas and don't forget to spam MoC -Overawe, every 3 second. Finally, reel in your victims by the use of CS -Implosion.

Weapons = A high fear factor of 17.5% + osRuby Echoing Fury (MH) and ls + osEmerald Won Kim Lau (OH)
DPS = 228k
EHP = 618k

Notes:
How to handle RD with 2.9% ls and 352 LoH? Just simply move WKL over to MH and swap in a 34% block + cc StormShield ...insignificant problem is solved!

You must be a skillful monk nephalem being able to handle the dangers of Diablo maps without making full use of Dashing Strike. Bravo!

For your information, I'd copied and pasted your monk's exact skills build for my testing purpose and gear selections for my reference as a matter of factly, two weeks ago.

One of the breakthrough discoveries is having stumbled upon Echoing Fury benefit that increases the Won Khim Lau attack speed significantly. Furthermore, Dashing Strike is the "life saver" skill to soften the effects of RD elite packs.

Your Monk
pDPS = 211.5k
EHP = 411k
Attacks per Second = 2.1 (MH & OH)
Armor = 5.8k
All Resist = 488
Total Dmg Reduction = 90.34
Hp = ~40k
Life Steal = 3%
LoH = 0

My Monk
pDPS = 255k
EHP = 622k
Attacks per Second = 2.58 (MH)  & 2.93 (OH)
Armor = ~5.3k
All Resist = 594
Total Dmg Reduction = 90.99
Hp = 56k
Life Steal = 2.9%
LoH = 352

I've always subscribed that EHP must be raised in tandem with higher DPS to survive RD. In my humble opinion, a fully buffed 400k dps monk needs not more than 1m ehp to survive RD.

double LS should be okay standing at 52-54K of HP. hehehe

i think many of them are so use to other classes where they can face tank everything.
if want to face tank everything in monk with < 300k range dps, dual LS / single LS + high LOH are needed definitely. single LS, maybe >300k perhaps?

btw, i tried DS before but not so use to it, always DS to tree poison or plague and dead. need to practise more tho..
