My discipline is very good. I ended up empty handed back from BBT hahaha.
Nice stuff there. R2D2, Horizon Express, Winter Village, Arkham Asylum, Kingdom Joust, Technic 42008 Service Truck |

I've been doing this over the long weekend.
Done a V6 engine mod onto my 9398 rockcrawler. By using 3 universal axle joint to transfer the rotation power from the front motor, to a gear on the chassis. The gear from the V6 engine can then be detached when the chassis is flipped up. Comments are welcomed This post has been edited by tanghm: Aug 11 2013, 04:15 PM |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Aug 12 2013, 11:07 AM) Nice idea for the hot-rod v6 engine. Thanks for CV-joint the idea. I ended up changing it to 2x u-joint at both ends and 1x cv-joint in the middle. The shaft will now "shrink" appropriately when the suspension is compressed (one wheel, but not both or else the shaft will compress to much). My comments: - 2x U-joint are enough. You may want to use 1x U-joint and 1x CV-joint, cause the suspension system will cause the axle to move a bit. Refer 8110 PTO - add 2 beams to hold the axle at motor and engine each. - another way is direct plug in a M-motor to the engine block. Kind of fake, but less gears/axles involved. But can make the engine rpm look faster. There are beams to secure the gear from the motor and the engine block, just those middle transfer gears doesn't have beams to secure it yet. I might wanna use a 1/2 L thick beam instead as it might be blocking the battery box. I only using parts from 42000 Grand Prix, I don't have an M-motor. |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Aug 14 2013, 07:18 PM) Nowadays I try not to use fingernail. Else, nail broken, chipped like get bitten or hammer I've been thinking to get those rubber finger thingy from Daiso to save my fingers abit Some things the brick separator can't push, especially if the axle to push is longer than 1 stud, and is stuck tight with thin-beam + thin-bushes. |

QUOTE(zemperor @ Aug 15 2013, 09:40 PM) if u mean the 4 support at the wheels, it also can extend without problem... however, my 4 support after fully extend and drop down, the motor struggle from lift up the 4 support... maybe not much power left haha that one i got a special garage that design for 6 of it Read the review at http://www.technicbricks.com/2013/07/tbs-t...e-crane-mk.html part 5 Functionality & Playability It looks like the outriggers (the 4 support) should use frictionless tan pin instead of the blue friction pin which is plain unnecessary and strain the motor which already at its limit. |

QUOTE(heng84 @ Aug 15 2013, 10:13 PM) hmm clearer picture.. green thingy.. the shaft will bend when the boom is lift up =x, the gears will detached like the one on red, have to push the red gear back to position.. so that the boom can extend.. any idea what did I do wrong X_X I dont have a 42009 but from the picture you shown and the online assembly guide I'm looking at right now, it looks like the beam is incorrectly installed.[attachmentid=3584262] [attachmentid=3584263] Check the part highlighted in red from Book 6 Step 53 The black axle is not supposed to be bend like that, in fact no axle should be bent at all. |

QUOTE(mavericksam @ Aug 19 2013, 08:18 PM) First time posting here. Converted a tie fighter to a tie interceptor without adding any additional parts. Sorry if it's out of proportions or anything. My favourite of all TIE starfighters. I will salute you if you can MOC a TIE Defender [attachmentid=3589942] [attachmentid=3589984] [attachmentid=3589988] |
