er, USB 2.0 is running at 480mbps while IDE hdd 133mbps.. even SATA2 at 300mbps only.. however, if the vista pc's usb sometimes wont get sufficient power like mine, it is havoc as it might jam the whole pchttp://www.itnews.com.au/newsstory.aspx?CIaNID=20100

added: usb not that stable as well as compare with HDD
