A swelling occurs at the site of the mosquito bite because of the enzymes in the saliva of the mosquito which it injects into the site of the bite to thin the blood. It's a reaction to the enzyme get it? Other than that, you won't die. Don't worry.

Dude, Use Ridsect goodnight liquid. It totally works man! now my family use one in my room and one in my parent's room. You can also buy the mosquito patch pack at the Guardian Pharmacy, it's like a small thing u stick on your arm and it will make mosquitos go away from you, i read the box it says no chemicals used (this one I never try yet but it looks interesting, Ridsect good night one I tried and I love it. it works)

*edited after some pondering

if my memory serves me right, the reaction u mentioned is a allergic reaction because histamine is released(a natural defence mechanism) as for the itch, i cant really remember.

btw, some ppl are allergic to mosquito bites, and these ppl could die from it(like nut allergic reactions tongue.gif) but this is really rare.

unless u are bitten like 1000 times a day then im not sure biggrin.gif

i think what u said about the enzyme reaction is wrong.

if my memory serves me right, its a allergic reaction it is a foreign compound injected by the mosquito that your body dont recognise so the body reacts to it. swelling is because histamine is released(a natural defence mechanism) as for the itch, i cant really remember.

Isn't what Darklight79 said the same thing as what you mentioned? Isn't enzyme released from the mosquito considered a foreign compound?
