and i find maxis is trying to abuse the "FUP".
FUP is different with download quota. Quota is more like the package which you have signed.
Some ISPs use FUP to protect their shared resources which will not overloaded and all users can get fair treatment with the limited resources.
I agree all of the ISPs are having FUP to protect their server and system. Some of the ISPs are really providing truely unlimited without quota, unless the server is down, then the load balancing have to kick in and the FUP applied.
But maxis is using these examples to misleading us in the FAQ. They are using the FUP not only to protect their system, and mainly their profit.
If they don't afford to lose, then don't define these plan as "unlimited" in the beginning. Don't tell us that it is unlimited, but only speed capped after the quota. If this is the case, then why they don't change all of their normal plan to "unlimited" since 1GB+ plan is already "unlimited"
Obviously they abuse the unlimited and FUP term.
Yup, I agree with u, they playing around with us to earn more profit.
Unlimited is truely Unlimited and not Quota based.
My place here, not much ppl using the 3G, ask them to check to the tower congested or not, they said no congested, but I only gain 2-4Mbps not matter Quota finish or not...look like they don't invest on the bandwidth for us and cap us for certain speed then said 2/4Mbps is a acceptable speed for wireless device.
