Thanks Gary for sharing this, may i ask a few questions:
1-how the repartition is done, is it part of the ROM it self?
2-after i flash the rom and repartition is done, if i want to recover to stock rom, I just recover by pressing the "reset" at back of phone? or what is the step to restore stock rom+unroot?
3-after recover to stock rom, will the partition goes back to original setup where internal storage = 2.14GB , built in storage = 1.45GB?
4-do you experience any issue with lagging/performance issue by setting only 4.98MB in built-in storage?

BTW, the rom come with the phone I am using currently is P780_ROW_S115_130807, baseband version P780.V20, 2013/07/31 10:51, hope this is what you were looking for.

Thanks, after updating base on your post, i have now 3.56GB on my internal storage. However I am facing a few problems:

1- i tried phone rest (as i wanted to try unroot) but it stuck in CWM and does not work even reset with CWM. After next reboot, it stuck at lenovo screen, are you facing this problem? Any solution?
2-i cannot see and cannot access the 3.56 internal storage, nor via windows when connected via usb, do you have same issue?
3-is the russia firmware same as malaysian firmware? I guess no ya? Where can we find malaysian firmware (ori one come with phone)? To flash this we need to use the flashing tool, or CWM?
4-how can i undo the partition if i need to send my phone for warranty claim?

MobileUncle CWM is chi base so far, you can try the recovery from needrom custom rom here for p780 http://www.needrom.com/phone-roms/lenovo/serial-p/p780/

In each custom room, most of them they come with recovery or flash tool, you can try out, i have not tested and not sure if it's in english, because I m using nandroid from Mobileuncle)

has anyone tried to read CF card via card reader with this phone? I tried and it does not work, with error popping saying "damaged external storage". Do we know a list of external storage supported via USB OTG function?

ALso, today tested GPS and does not seems to work well, the locking to GPS satalite taks forever, is there any solution to this?

Anyone notice the touch screen response is slow, and the keyboard will choke to take my inputs when I type quickly (Same typing speed as Per s2 but no such problem), I'm using firmware 115, is this hardware limitation or solved with firmware update? Thanks.

Tried a few, including stock, Swype, swiftkey, all response quite slow comparing to my previous phone experience.any good recommendation of keyboard?

Have anyone tried usbotg function?I connected to an iPhone, it's charging but can't read the picture inside, tried with cf card reader and usb hdd, no luck too , it says damaged storage. Tried with thumb drive, working well.did custom Rom support usbotg? Thx.

I tried to flash with SP flash tool but it does not show any progress (yellow bar) after i click download and my phone is switched off. It seems nothing has happened, anything went wrong?

May i know where to download the driver?

Thanks, will try it out. Just power off the phone and connect the usb cable? no need to boot into recovery mode etc?

Ok i found out the problem. It is because I have bluestack installed, I suspected this because my rooting via mt6589_rooter was working and when I retry again, it does not work, and give me error "error: more than one device and emulator".
After googling, i found this and bluestack was the culprit : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639199

After exiting bluestack, the root is working again, so does SP Flash tool, now I am able to flash to S116 successfully.

Btw I am using PdaNetA4126 as my usb driver.

Oh ya, after flashing, for the first time powering on the phone, the booting will take quite a while , up to 5 mins, so be patient, it's not hanging(that was my scare)

Thanks, yap, I did that but the update will fail because it will stuck in the CWM after I select "update now" and the phone rebooted to CWM and that's it..so now flash back so S116, update to S119, only then root->CWM->repartition...

Any idea about custom rom flashing problem above? Thanks again.

anyone having problem with gravity custom rom storage? i applied the repartition via CWM to increase internal storage then flash to gravity rom, but then when i tried to download any file, i notice the storage was not enough. When i change installation path to SD card, it will reboot and link to the small unused repartition storage, and vice versa, strange..for those using gravity rom, did you apply the internal repartition before flashing to this rom? thanks.
