Hi everyone. Just got my P780 today. Switching from my old Galaxy S2. Tired of the overheating battery and hangs. Btw, I am a bit confused abt the max sdcard capacity our phone can support. Some are saying 32gb while others are saying 64gb works too. Can anyone help clarify this? Is anyone here using a 64gb sdcard? Thanks guys!

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Sep 2 2013, 12:01 PM) This phone doesn't have hdmi output, and I'm not sure if it supports mhl. Since I already have mhl cable, I'll try it out. Bro, dont know if you know this but there is 2 types of MHL adaptor. I'm not sure how to explain it but one has a longer usb tip than normal and the other one is standard length. The longer one only compatible with Note 2 and S4 phones. The standard one usually ngam with old Samsung like my Galaxy S2.

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Sep 5 2013, 01:32 PM) Tried already with MX player and VLC player. But only VLC works, but I can't seek time. If i do that, the playback just stops. What's the size/format for your videos? Mine mostly mkv >1gb size. Have you downloaded and installed the codecs for MX Player? It should work. I'm having no troubles watching streaming videos from my home network or videos stored on my sdcard. MX Player allows you to use 3 different rendering methods. HW+, HW and Software. One of them should work.

QUOTE(untoro @ Sep 6 2013, 01:24 AM) Yeap...thats rite bro. btw, I found out Dice Player (with custom plugin) performs better on big file compare to MX player I notice a bit lag on MX player when watching 8GB mkv file (dts codec), but Dice player can handle this smoothly. Just that, dont try to jump/seek time, that would be too much for this phone Hi bro, Thanks for the tip on Dice Player. Have you tried the custom codecs for MX Player? I tested on some big bdrip files, playback was smooth(software mode) and can pause/seek/ with no issues.

QUOTE(birdman13200 @ Sep 7 2013, 11:53 AM) u can use task killer to free up the memory. But there is argument that more power to be use when u load up a program after kill the task, it is rather to left the task in the memory to save the reload time. By default, android will free up the memory when current task need the memory. Agreed bro. I think as long as there is no real slowdown and lag when using the phone then better to leave things alone. If not broken why fix it? Talking from personal experience using my old S2, I can say for certain that it did affect battery life and even though there was more ram, performance suffered as cache aggressively cleared. Just my 2 cents

QUOTE(sixshot @ Oct 2 2013, 10:08 PM) may i know how long is the battery life for this phone? It's about 60+ or minus hours which is around 2.5 days to 3 days. For me I had my 3g and Bluetooth on all the time. Heavy surfing on both 3g and Wi-Fi as well as gaming (real racing 4 and Shadowrun returns). It's probably the only smartphone with this kinda battery life in the market π

QUOTE(xMika @ Oct 2 2013, 09:38 PM) nope .. still having problems with my WLAN .. cannot lock screen with WLAN on or else my phone wont wake up when I press power button .. everytime need to disable WLAN before screen lock .. but most of the time i use data so not very fussy with it .. just annoyed haha .. That's strange. Have you tried your phone without the memory card? Does the problem persist? This problem has not happened to my p780 but I had this exact same thing happen to my s2. Caused by slow memory card. Weird right?

QUOTE(azim61 @ Oct 3 2013, 01:14 PM) i dont know if it just me the hp when using the camera, it will lag, which mean when i turn the camera to the left, it will take about 2 seconds on the screen to the left and the autofocus is slow, when open the gallery also lag a bit, im using camera mx as the stock camera i removed because of high usage ram izit because of that? I don't really know about mx camera but the stock super camera works well for me If you find autofocus to be slow, just tap on the screen and it will immediately focus the area you tap. You can immediately take pics after that. Hope this helps! PS. You can use the volume key to take photos tooπ

QUOTE(weijye @ Oct 5 2013, 01:54 PM) Hi everyone. I'm a new owner. Previously coming from xperia z with sucky battery life,Β I'm totally impressed with this phone. But the screen seems to be less responsive as I have fast fingers during typing I tend to miss if typed too quickly. Is there anyway to improve the responsiveness of the screen? Tq. Try using alternative keyboard apps like Swype. There's a lot for Android so try them out and I'm pretty sure you'll find one that suits your typing style. Another approach is to use different homescreen launchers. Those are more customizable and will allow you to tweak the screen responsiveness. I find the stock Lenovo launcher sufficient and agree that the stock keyboard isn't as responsive as I would like. This is why I went with Swype which works great for me.
