I'm in the market for new smartphone to use when travelling,  coming from 4000+mah battery so theres no going back.

Already held and test one of P780 when my friend came and ask me to root. really solid build. BTW I use Cydia Impactor to root and only took less than a minute to do the job! after that just get SuperSU or similar from PlayStore to get proper grant.
However I'm a bit concerned about future update (since 4.4 would be kickass), so anybody tried this phone with Miui rom for MT 6589?

I really hoping for Moto G but so so battery and no expansion is a gig NO NO since I want the endurance and to take many pic and video.

Im sure 4.4 custom rom for P780 will soon available.

well i can say similar lo... but AOSP rom on S3 it will be faster coz of CPU...

Doubt about that since even 4.2.2 is nowhere to be seen, don't think Lenovo is too keen on firmware updates.

Last time spoke with Lenovo China executive when they pay a visit to shop, screw them for this matter. He told me Lenovo had launched almost 90 android phones yearly and is hard to maintain regards of this matter. Seriously

Well without root I would say surely this phone battery will last longer...
But after root and customer lighter ROM installed that might be S3...
But S3 has some problem... search online n check properly the unit had those defect or not... if not I would not sold off mine after less than 5 months of usage...
FYI I must have dual Original battery daily for S3 means more than 4000mAh... this I still have some to spare after 12 hrs even I abuse it...
