anyone get to change the internal storage partition??

For those need to repartition their internal storage to total 3.58GB available 2.16GB

The ROM I use is P780_ROW_S110_130629,
May I know the original ROM version that you all use (I mean the one that come with the system)?? coz i flash and test too many ROM, so forget is this the original ROM which come with the device

I have P770 and this P780 both dual sim i found out that is very convenient when i go oversea.
sim1 got 3G but sim2 only 2G both can work together for call and sms but data can only select either one to use
all setting in sim tools or sim management.

the different between P770 and P780 is
1. GPS problem solve
2. got a cleaner for ram
3. quad core CPU P770 dual core
4. bigger screen 5" P770 4.5" but feeling almost same
5. 8MP Camera P770 5MP
6. 4000mah battery P770 3500mah but performance of battery almost same coz quad core and bigger screen

Yup but china version i didnt try the need rom version...
but coz i flash 3.6G (without build-in storage) rom 1st and miui sit on top of this 3.6G rom so very unstable and the whole phone laggy. specially after flash in google apps.

i recommand you to flash after doing the repartition you need at least some space in build-in storage (now i left only 4.xMB) or you flash miui rom without changing the partition.

by the way may I know the default ROM version for your phone?? you can check it in settings->all settings-> about phone-> version info->build number

and Please take note that our P780 is international version. flashing china ROM sim2 may have problem due to baseband different.

they said got solution from Russian web but i didnt try coz in malaysia i dont have sim2 to try.

it is the same in malaysia too. this phone is dual sim standby 双卡双待.
My friend p770 using celcom for sim1 (personal line) and maxis for sim2 to call (company line).
his data is always on, coz this phone will cut off data while you connected to wifi and of coz if your wifi week the data will automatically on back... just like normal android phone.

I test a lot of china website one but most of them have 360 assistant and baidu which i dont like...
i found the best still needrom the original one S110 29 june 2013 rom international version.

with original rom you want move your apps to sd dont need link2sd you can use the default that in setting-> app -> sd storage
just tick whatever you want to move to sd

1-how the repartition is done, is it part of the ROM it self?
P780_LiFe_v02_ReParted_Data_aroma.zip is not a rom, it is a program written by Russian to repartition P780 phone internal storage. it just like CWM recovery update.zip or gapps if you use cyanogenmod before. your original rom still remain only thing will lost is the data in your build in storage so please backup your build in storage data to your external storage and set the default write to external storage after repartition it!!

2-after i flash the rom and repartition is done, if i want to recover to stock rom, I just recover by pressing the "reset" at back of phone? or what is the step to restore stock rom+unroot?
if you want to recover, you need to flash the stock rom back from needrom S110 29 June 2013 or i found the latest rom S116 28 Aug 2013

After flash back stock rom it back to unroot condition again!!

I found the S115 rom but it is an OTA update (11MB) and i dont know why i cant flash in or update to S110 rom using mobile uncle CWM recovery maybe TWR can do it, but i never try!!

3-after recover to stock rom, will the partition goes back to original setup where internal storage = 2.14GB , built in storage = 1.45GB?
after flash back either rom the partition table will reset coz the EBR1 & 2 flash back to original.

4-do you experience any issue with lagging/performance issue by setting only 4.98MB in built-in storage?
Even My P770 i partition it to 3.3G and 3XXMB free on build in memory, i use it for almost 6 months never found any lagging problem even dont have a hang or restart issue like galaxy S2. coz i set the default write to External storage so the build in storage become useless i just store my mp3 song and ringtone. P780 still not yet run in live after repartition so i cant comment it now coz still under testing but so far so good even i try dual sim today.... but i think will be the same coz using stock rom didnt change anything except partition and default write location.
of coz you need a fast microSD card to have better performance. my microSD is 30MB/s.
you can also have a simulate environment to set the default write to external card use it for 1 week see got any laggy problem? only problem is custom ringtone issue.. each time you restart your phone need to set it back again coz the preparing of external storage slow when startup. so ringtone put in build in storage or use system ringtone lo!! then you find out that your build in storage become useless!!

For those want to know more about dual sim,

today try it and found out that call log indicator call from which sim is too small with a number "1" or "2" not like P770 different it by using color and name which set in sim management. for uncle like me is a bit difficult to see!!

SMS still ok coz there is a sim name display on right bottom corner but also without color. P770 got name and color without number!!

good thing is P780 got a new function that SMS and Call ringtone can be set by different sim. means sim1 & 2 can have different ringtone and sms notification.

I tested this in S116 ROM dont know the S115 ROM having the same problem?

RAM still a issue like P770 coz both using 1GB RAM but this time lenovo launcher add a cleaner function but dont forget to set white list in preference!! if not, you will found some of your program not function well after clean ram

the lenovo power is the best improvement!!! can manage and whitelist or blacklist so many things and so stable compare with juice defender i use in galaxy s2!!

IPhone start use li-po since iPhone 3g... the disadvantage of li-po is don't drain ur batt to 0. If not even you can charge it but performance drop 50%...you can check with all remote plane player they know well about Li-po batt... advantage is light weight...

Actually p780 battery can get it everywhere in China market and price cheap ( but I don't know is ori or not)... and easy to replace only 4 screw....

This improve a bit for P770 GPS but i not think so P780 need it!! I try a few time on gps with data or wifi on it can lock less than 10sec

But this way still a bit slow to lock GPS for P770 the best way to lock it is install "GPS test" from play store then goto -> GPS test setting-> clear AGPS data -> update AGPS data

back to GPS test signal screen wait for less than 1mins the GPS will lock and you can press home screen and launch sygic or waze...

if using only google maps just make sure your wifi on then open maps app it will lock very fast coz it use google WPS (wifi position system)!!

there is few whitelist in P780
in launcher preference is mainly for clear ram... so those calendar apps like biz calendar or clock widget, sosial apps like wechat or whatapp, email apps like k9 mail or outlook better whitelist it... so after you press the cleaner widget those program will not close

the other you need to on in manually in lenovo power setting

one is lock screen network whitelist (if you on the lock screen network, it work like juice defender that cut your network while go to lock screen) so you need to whilelist above problem in order you still can received you msg or email while lock screen.

the other one is lock screen memory clean whilelist (if you on this , it will clean your ram while lock screen) so same it just like you press cleaner on desktop, but this this while your phone go lock screen it will auto clean your ram so same thing you dont want them to clear your calendar, sosial or email apps.

Press left "menu" button then go to "preference" then clean ram whitelist

My earlier post got TWR english link but i didnt try that... can have factory reset (without changing partition) by go to mobile uncle CWM and do a factory reset (of coz is chinese lo!!)
