I didn't get your first question just now... what you mean "did my Amp work with hd channels before?...... the only thing i use on it is my MediaHDD player to play HD movies...then just when i got astro Byond installed, i tried to hook it up to my amp, it worked for only 10 seconds before the Copy Protection Failed thingy pops up... "HDCP stripper broke?"... I could try playing with the settings.. i hope nothing serious or it's just a small issue?.

If i call/contact the shop/guy where i got my AVR from, what sort of questions should I be directing towards them?

for HDMI Stripper, I've bought the following item... but it's not here yet... so I cannot tell you if it is working or not...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/300938129341

there are many China made HDMI splitter which strips HDCP signal so you probably can look around at aliexpress.com so it all depends on your luck to get HDMI splitter with HDCP stripped on output signal...

Want a high quality HDCP stripper?

HDFury 4 (Google) is a good one with hacked software... but prepare to spend RM1500 for it

You can use this as reference as well:

Anyone has the latest Samsung PVR picture? Front and back of the PVR?

I wonder can samsung PVR has separated optical audio output instead of going all to HDMI?

Does anyone having problem with Astro Multiroom on different address?

One of my second decoder having problem at my friend's house as we are sharing the account.

The decoder will work at my house (where the astro is registered) but not my friend's house.

I wonder is there a new security such as GPS coordination that will prevent a decoder to work at different location other than the registered address?

Had brought the decoder to different location yet it couldn't be decoded!
thankyou

Third Decoder - Seri Kembangan (Byond)

Can you describe the problem of "not working" ?
*
Second decoder which located at Cheras, it was okay all the while. My friend subscribed PACE PVR decoder, few days ago, he came back from holiday with his family and the astro problem happened. He did not switch on astro for 10 days before that.

1) when he switch on, the screen seems to be all black. Check signal, it's 176 which seems fine. (I will attach the screenshot later)
2) He's using Astro Byond plate (Philip LNB) but only 1 tuner is connected. 2nd tuner for PVR is not connected.

At first we thought the PACE decoder having problem so I actually swapped mine (Samsung PVR) with him yet he still couldn't get the picture. Signal looks good.

When I brought back the PACE unit and tested at home, everything is back to normal hmm.gif

3) He brought the decoder and tested at friend's house, the result is same. Signal available, but black screen.

Called Astro to confirm, TECHNICALLY, can we bright the decoder together with smart card to another house to watch, the answer is 'yes'.

What we worried is they have new security to in-build GPS coordination to decoder so if the coordinate in the decoder is out of the registered location, it will not decode the image (Again, this is just a wild guess). If this happens, Arggg... nothing we can do!
thankyou

Have he tried the older decoder (non B.yond) ?
Maybe when he upgraded to PACE, his smartcard was not "bind" to the newer PACE decoder.
*
But the problem is, both Samsung/Pace decoder did not work at his house...

Both worked at my house (where the astro is registered to)...

That's very strange, don't you think so? We will have to wait until 5th of Jan for another friend to come back from overseas in order to know non.Byond decoder will work or not...
thankyou

Mine is still working.
But all 3 is under same area.

Can we use one decoder for 2 TVs? Meaning both TV will always show the same channel and both in HD. Is this possible?
*
When you say same area means different houses but under same area for example, SS2 or Subang SS15?

yes this is possible with HDMI splitter and HDMI extender...

We may have found the problem... Apparently not too sure was it caused by software update, the astro PVR decoder no longer accept to connect 1 Tuner at a time as it used to.

Right now the two Tuner must be connected with signal... feel relief!
