Yeah I roughly understand what you're trying to tell me. So if I know my TV has this HDCP thingy as it works perfect when I plug my Astro direct to my TV... but I believe my Onkyo TR-809 should also have the HDCP stripper, according to it's User Manual.

you may ask why your tv cannot strip it when connected to avr , because your amp just output its raw signal without the hdcp "code"was not sent to your tv.(not a very good explanation .)

>>Not very good explanation, I must agree LOL, but I still could comprehend what you're trying to say. Probably I've set everything on the AVR to Auto output, thus sending the "wrong-ish" signal out to my TV?

Option1: NOH, I love watching and producing HD content tongue.gif
Option2: both my Amp and TV supports ARC, but I've NO idea (till this date) how to set it up properly, unless ARC only works if my input source on my tv is via HDMI? (idk i know nothing lol)
Option4: What kinds of HDCP stripper are there out there? I know nothing, but It's interesting as I could use this option if all else fails.
Option5-6-7-8:. hahaha well, I do have Tos-Link too.. but the main reason why i wanna plug to my AVR is so that i can use it to decode the 5.1 surroound, and also use it as my main splitter to my overhead projector....

ARC is quite simple to setup actually, but also depends on your TV and AVR supports it or not

If both supports, try this setup: (HDMI 1 is H1, HDMI2 is H2, and so on)

1. Find out which HDMI port on your TV has the ARC, usually it will be labeled there
2. Assume H2 is the ARC port
3. Connect your Astro to H1 (non ARC)
4. Connect your AVR's out to H2 (ARC port)
5. Switch on both, now you should be able to get the Astro audio from your AVR

A-list also no longer free

i guess no one will subscribe it as it's just a repetition of a few art movies every day
and not everyone can appreciate those art movies laugh.gif

just a matter of time before they shutdown that channel for losing monies tongue.gif

but the FFM is a nice addition to the movie/family package, which actually catered for general audience, and why the heck they stop broadcasting it doh.gif

dang, ever since the latest update, my PVR box is behaving erratically

there's lag in changing of channel via the numeric pad
eg: when i want to switch to 443, sometimes the first number didn't show on screen but it's registered, so actually end up pressing 444 doh.gif
then have to try a few times again to get the timing right

then sometimes my PVR will reboot automatically in the middle of the show, have to wait for a minute or 2 before can watch again doh.gif

anybody experience these also after the new EPG update? hmm.gif

Kinda reluctant to call Astro for this, as most likely they'll just ask me to replace the PVR decoder to the latest one, and I got tonnes of backlogged records in the PVR that I haven't watch doh.gif

I have the automatically reboot problem as well. So far has experience it twice. Watching a show and then suddenly the screen goes blank.

And also I noticed there's a bug with recording as well. It will stop recording in the middle of the show sometimes therefore some of the show I recorded are only halfway -.-"

Mine is pace pvr.

I hope for same thing too, probably after they adjust the SD channels frequency to DVB-S2 MPEG4, same as current HD one. Also, you've missed

1. ITV Choice HD
2. Phoenix Chinese Channel HD
3. Phoenix Info News HD
4. BBC World News HD
5. Discovery Science HD
6. Crime and Investigation Network HD
7. Discovery Home and Health HD
8. Discovery Turbo HD
9. Cinemax HD
10. Golf Channel Asia HD
*
I really want Cinemax HD and Fox HD, since this two has a lot of shows that I'm interested to watch
but their current SD quality is worst than terrestrial quality, which reminds me of the cinema quality VCDs in the olden days. doh.gif
really potong steam watching in those lousy quality doh.gif

if this pic is indeed true, then whoever designed & maintained this so called UPS room gonna get his ass whooped kau-kau

such fire aren't supposed to happen in such a mission critical area

and the fire are still raging until ppl got time to snap a pic of it? doh.gif

If that room indeed is the UPS room, means it's full of batteries
batteries = explosive
heat + batteries = ????

they are lucky there aren't any explosion, else the whole situation could be worse

by right the fire should be contained in the sealed room within a minute, but it doesn't seems so in this case. hmm.gif
