Just a heads up. If anyone is interested in getting Astro B.yond HD into XBMC, Windows Media Center, Media Portal etc, I'm selling my old kit here.

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Feb 19 2014, 04:05 PM) Same PC, except this time it captures with HDMI instead of Component. Also ditched Windows Media Center as backend PVR and clients. Now running DVBLink Server as backend PVR. Clients can be XBMC, DVBLink or any DLNA-capable devices that can decode H.264/MPEG-4 AVC streams. When I started doing this, Astro didn't have Astro OTG or PVR function yet for B.yond. |

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Feb 20 2014, 02:31 PM) All IT sells these at just under RM500, you need TWO Cat5e cables though. Remember it has to be separate from your home network. http://www.aten.com/products/Video-Product...ml#.UwWxVvm7tuI This post has been edited by MK84: Feb 20 2014, 03:42 PM |

AjkR06, when you had the Astro Max last time, did they change it to an updated Max set?

QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Feb 23 2014, 06:03 PM) Ohh.. nope. It's the same decoder from 2007 until astro 'upgraded' it to byond pvr in 2010. I don't think there are any updated astro max set available since their initial launch in 2006 until they discontinued it at the end of 2008. Byond PVR is the 'rebirth' version of Astro Max Okay. Apparently there is at least one hardware revision for Astro Max. When I was using it last time Astro decided to change the set out of the blue. No idea what changed. |
