Hi all sifu's here , Glad to be in the field of works related to astro again.After so loooong MIA.

FYI all Pace would launch DMT5 STB with looks exactly the same as Samsung now.Difference is at back panel and startup EPG

Any new issues recently?
- Phanthom Recording?
[ this is not new but recently got spike of cases related to this ]
- Channel 103 will have issues for booking failure
[ this is because tv3 always provided and changes it schedule last minute ]

To Recap
IPTV problems
- Those places with TM infra would experience alot of issues related to intermitent Hang / Freeze issues
- Network port 1 is a service port with no functionality currently
- Must use Network Port 2
- If your internet or unicast is down you would still able to enjoy IPTV up to 6 hours.But dont reboot your STB once reboot everything will go down.
- you can check this via the APPS button of your remote
- 2 different EPG will appear connected to internet or not

Well for all of these cases you are the only one that say can be deleted,the feedback from tech and myself going into the field saw all also can't be deleted.

My suspect was
1 ] hard drive issues
2 ] firmware issues

but since they are categorized it as phantom recordings
i cannot pursue this anymore because my findings would not make any sense without help from ASTRO tech guys
But still the most nearest possible fault is bug issues as these phantom recording affects both manufacturer
what STB you are currently using? please check the followings goto >settings>software version
Bootloader is at the bottom

Boot Loader
Pace = 312
Samsung DMT5 = 522

Image Software / Software Version
Pace = 705.5C
Samsung DMT5 = 707.5C

If anyone experience this i suggest for now until they released the next batch of updates to performed Format Disk Drive
No use call their customer call centre [CCC] and waste your credit they will tell you the same thing as i did.

This is not a hardware issue even though you replaced the STB issue will reoccur , so why waste your time in getting tech over.

It's just a spike of cases recently , like durian season biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Next update would be very soon , but how soon is soon i do not know biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

To perform format disk drive , simply go to >settings>installation settings>input 0000 pinnumber by default>format disk drive

Sorry to hear that , but that is the resolution for this issue right now.

Moving forward does anyone experiencing STB hang or auto reboot issues?
Mind that if you do would you share here with me?

Would appreciated if can get more details of it like

STB hang changing channels or Hang at channels when or which channels.

Yup it means exactly like that , there are no issue when you playing it
But it will be an issue because it would suck your harddisk space because you will never going to delete it

I seriously don't have an answer for that but more likeable to be a bug.Because like i said earlier w/o help from within ASTRO tech team on this,all my findings wont go anywhere,But it still goes down on resources issues i think since the matter has been so long already.I dont think their MGMT would just spend money for just 1 bug fixes and 1 updates for it.

But this is just my view and opinion lah on the whole situation , I might be wrong lah


Just hope new updates would come soon enough to fix the issues.

How about the bootloader it should be version 312 not 306
You can try restore factory settings OR force Clear NVRAM

to do force Clear NVRAM

- reboot your STB
- on your STB press and hold both ch+ and ch- until the front stb panel display shows CLR
- then release wait it reboot again
- it will go into installation setup just press OK on everything


I assume you are not a IPTV subscriber
* make sure the MODE is HYBRID and not IP otherwise you cant proceed *


If you wanted to update your bootloader

- reboot your STB
- on your STB press power button and press CH-
- continuously press power and press ch- repeatedly until software update shows
- sit back and wait until it is done it will reboot itself and check again at system version it will be 312


But by right it should not affect the tv volume to go max at all
If soft audio output issues are there but max volume is the first time biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

There are a question if the above did not solved your issue would glad if you can input me

1 ] Do you use ASTRO REMOTE to control the Volume of the TV or Volume of the STB
- these are two different things don't be confused

2 ] Can you try this
a] totally unplug your Astro STB [ set up box ] and on your tv check your tv volume now
cool.gif Unplug your HDMI and plug it in other HDMI inputs
c] Unplug your HDMI cable and Plug in AV inputs / composite input [ those yellow,white,red cables ] and switch to AV inputs
d] If you have other TV try with that
e] Try with another HDMI cable
f] All else failed call 1300 82 3838 and obtained an complaint no

*Tips when calling , just refused their BTS [ basic trouble shooting steps ] insist they create a complaint no for you , you save money for it biggrin.gif

Called only in odd hours not peak hours like 10pm - 11.45pm or 8.00am - 10am
3pm to 6pm is peak hours so save your money
