i think 1 channel (ch350) HD is enough for Astro On Demand. Just series link it with pvr no need so many channel for the re-runs to be honest. to hell with the SD viewers lah.

wow thanks alot, ya i am on the 2nd gen PVR. So far the interface still is the old old one, might need to wait for the EPG update before end of April then. Hopefully 2nd gen decoder they will release the HDMI too..

Hmm, when I swapped to Maxis IPTV they replaced my 1st gen PVR and non-PVR boxes for two new 1st gen PVRs, not the second gen one. Is there much difference apart from the wifi?

Some of the user here claimed that apart from build in wifi, the 2nd gen pvr decoder has faster processor and more RAM as well as more responsive than the 1st generation, albeit astro actually didn't reveal at all both of decoder hardware specification to the public (except for 500GB internal HDD). Yes, I admit the first generation sometime are slow to respond to the user request but that kind of problem already solved now by the new epg update. 

I wonder why astro did not provide the 2nd generation pvr for the IPTV user? Perhaps it is due to the internal wifi receiver that may cause a conflict with the IPTV network that resides on their specific VLAN tagging.

Sorry if this has been asked before.... but I couldn't find it.....

Lately my B.yond PVR is not consistent in recording..... In a weak, the are few recording is fail to record although the show is correct and airing and sometimes when viewing the recorded show it will show the blank screen ( became like hang ) and I has to manually turn off the power supply to used it back.....

Anyone encounter this problem and has a solution to share...

I want to ask whether Astro (using disc not IPTV) can output to Avermedia C027 HD card thru HDMI? Just to watch Astro no need to record. I don't have any TV set right now, thinking to watch on pc. Last time I used to watch Hypptv IPTV using this HD card.

I have visits Astro sales office just now and the officer said that decoder is so smart that only can display on TV but not other devices. Is it true?

What is the meaning of Wah, Kah and Lai? If I'm not mistaken, Toi means "channel" isn't it? 

Still remember my good old days where astro packages was still 'cheap'. We used to subscribe for all the channels back then and Wah lai Toi is one of my favourite channel although I'm Malay. TVB Drama was really good back then.  Square pegs, Golden Faith, War and beauty, Heart of Greed, Moonlight resonance, No regrets etc etc....

Actually, Astro 華麗台 = Wah Lai Toi (Ironicly Google Translate it as WLT instead)

Dear all, would need some advise on this issue.

For 2 months i have been using my home subscribed astro service in one of my futsal club (its considered a commercial property but we didnt use it for public). 2 astro sales executive came to our place 11pm at night claiming that we could not use this astro for commercial use and that unless we convert to commercial astro package on the spot or they would write a report to their HQ and issue us a legal letter. Without any proper document of warning from astro, i consider this as a sales scam where they only left me 2 options, Subscribe my commercial package or receive legal action. What is this. I am not even allowed to cancel or remove the decoder and place it back home.

No report writing or report taking. Just wondering is the job of the sales team. They just photocopied a noticed from a newspaper and show us the terms.

From my experience, astro subscription for commercial establishments have a rectangle/square (depend on your TV) on the right-bottom corner of the screen.

kenapa astro aku punya slow n lagging.. apabila off suis n on dia reboot astu dia xkluar jam dah..kua trus saluran 100 tp xleh nk tkr mana2 saluran or volume wpun mgunakan remote atau button pada dekoder.adakah masalahnya pada dekoder? menggunakan dekoder pvr yg lama.

is it normal dmt 5 become lagging, not responding to remote or physical button during download catch up tv?
