They shot it in HD for the channel 308 QUAN JIA, and for 301 AEC they letterboxed it. Was watching that programme yesterday and recorded the HD one.

Guys,
Anyone can quote and reply me on this?

I've just upgraded my Astro account into SuperPack 3 (RM155.00).
Together with the 6% tax, that sums up to be RM164.30.
In addition, it also adds another RM10.00 for the AOTG.  Grand total = RM174.30.
However, there is a note saying "100% discount on AOTG FREE".

What does it mean? If its free, why the grand total is not RM164.30, but it is RM174.30?  Is the AOTG free for a period of time?

I am sure there is someone who has this Superpack 3 now.

Thank you.
*
Astro OTG is free with every superpack packages if I'm not wrong.

mine running HDMI to TV and Optical to Amp. But since my TV don't pickup DD from my Astro through HDMI(but samsung decoder don't transfer DD signal anymore through HDMI)(Blu Ray works fine though), I plug in coaxial from Astro STB to my Amp to receive DD5.1

That cheap HDMI cable is FOC with the PVR but remember a two year contract and add on HD fees of RM20 per month applies,so now u know why the cable is FOC!
*
It's not like you gonna cancel the subscription anytime soon. You still gonna watch it for 10 years lol..

It picks up DD signal which means that the source is DD , but for some strange reason when it passes down my amp sees it as DD but shows it as 2.1 and nothing comes out
I hope this is not the case , I am suing SAMSUNG SmartTV , by right it shouldn't decode DD stream and pass straight to amp. I hope it's not one of those HDMI HDCP thingy that does not allow me to pass DD stream via HDMI

Will test it out with my PC later via HDMI , as my pc is connected straight to the amp for 5.1 surround
*
Im also using Samsung Smart TV 2012 model. UA46ES7100.
If youre using new decoder, the hdmi port doesnt output dd 5.1, only pcm, if it shows dd that means something is wrong. Thats why i used a coaxial cable. My bluray player will output dd2.1 to my tv and sometimes worse only pcm. Now i also connect a coaxial cable from it to amp. At least get dts 2.0

I see... thanks for the info. But my decoder still working though. Asked Astro in the Facebook page, and they say need to subscribe the PVR if want to change the decoder...  sweat.gif
*
Don't have to care if your existing decoder works fine. Just use until they beg you to change decoder. Read the first page of this thread.

Signal strength not that important. as long above 120 or 130 I think ok dy. Signal quality must be full all the time

Call them and ask whether the pvr service is free.
If its free for 12 months then go for it, like its free, why not? Hd services would be optional if you dont know.

Nope unless you cancel superpack subscription or they change the terms. Astro on the go is free with a multiroom subscription or any superpack. In my case I have both subscriptions tongue.gif

If they need you to upgrade to one of the new STBs then can't you just replace your old one with a non-pvr b.yond box (without a HD subscription)?
*
Most probably can. If they force you to take the PVR services then say you want to cancel their subcription.
Either they activate your account, or get you a Byond box or cancel your subscription.
By then find your alternative or resubscribe with a contract.
