There seems to be a bug in the decoder software. Whenever those channels have a certain 'red dot' app banner, once you reached the channel via FAV, will not be able to navigate to next FAV channel. Anyone know if this can be solved?

Try to do the force update. Pace decoder should have received it long ago.

You may try this trick, when the red dot appear press "back button" on your remote then try to navigate again your Fav channel~

I've noticed that TVB Classic is in 16:9 widescreen (but 4:3 letterboxed here).

Normally it will happen like this. I FAV until the channel that has the red button, if don't stay on that channel too long, that is just FAV to the next channel, it will work. But if you have settled there for a second or two, it will start to get awareness that there is some interactive thing attached to it (the red dot). Once that happen you not be able to move away, it will load the app in the background. Will need to wait till red dot appears, in the meantime even volume control can't work. This will last a couple of seconds maybe 10 secs. After the red dot appears, then can use Back to hide the red dot, but I don't think the the FAV to the next works for me at this point. I will have to go down or up one channel using (-/+) and then back to the channel with the red dot, quickly press Fav then it will reach the next Fav channel. Also, on red dot channels, after using Back to hide the red dot, the volume On-Screen indicator will not appear anymore. When increase or decrease vol, the volume bar will no longer appear, although the sound still decrease/increase based on your button press.

Quite annoying, not really interested in the red dot app at all, if only can disable that for all channels will be good. Otherwise, the bug needs to be fixed. It's been there for a long time.

only for select few shows, dunno what's the reason behind though

but at least we now know that the original TVB-Classic feed is in 16:9 ratio

PS/ just know that Japan will roll out the first ever UHD FTA broadcast in the world soon, meanwhile, our dear ass teruk, still offer 576i in 4:3 at a premium price yawn.gif

My ques is, is it wiser to register via the official website or through those flyers (rm50 siap pasang etc)?
How fast can they come, and install.. after confirmation (via website or flyers)?
How much is the current 1st payment needed for 1st time registration?

Thanks and much appreciated.

Register via their hotline better. The flyers one.... I don't think its very reliable.
Online? expect to wait for more than 1 month

HD-ready is actually good enough for Astro as most HD channels' source are 720P

Inb4 you /ktard
Inb4 me /ktard too

HD-ready is good enough. Assteruk b-yond output is only 1080i max.

I agree withe the other posters. Go by hotline or website. Flyers not really trustworthy. Just make sure you are ready to commit for two years no matter which way you choose to register.

Thanks for the headsup fellas. smile.gif

Called their hotline, some chick with a sexy husky voice, Cik Anna, attended my call and registered my subscription smoothly. Said there will be 2 incoming calls, 1 for validation and 1 from technician/installer, both within 48 hours. Installation within 1 week.

+ Upfront payment RM80 only, for installation.
+ Free 30days for Astro Box Office Movie.
+ Cik Anna's direct line brows.gif
- 2 years contract as u said.
- Rain issue unavoidable.

That can be reduced, if you find similar dish color in bigger size. Or just DIY the dish.brows.gif

Actually rain issue is avoidable if you go for assteruk IPTV either with Maxis or Time. But then IPTV is not available everywhere and costs extra $$$ because of bundled broadband and telephone services.
