Astro Wah Lai Toi

Astro Kah Lai Toi

What is the meaning of Wah, Kah and Lai? If I'm not mistaken, Toi means "channel" isn't it? unsure.gif

Still remember my good old days where astro packages was still 'cheap'. We used to subscribe for all the channels back then and Wah lai Toi is one of my favourite channel although I'm Malay. TVB Drama was really good back then. rolleyes.gif Square pegs, Golden Faith, War and beauty, Heart of Greed, Moonlight resonance, No regrets etc etc....

Meanwhile in Indonesia...

user posted image

They already moved 100% to MPEG-4 since yesterday, while we are still stuck with the old MPEG-2 just FOR THE SAKE OF SOME NJOI USER AND THOSE WHO ARE REFUSED TO CHANGE THEIR DECODER TO BYOND! doh.gif Perhaps Astro should act more aggressively now... rolleyes.gif

For those who are not understand Indonesian language, this noticed tells the telkomvision subscriber who are still using the old mpeg-2 decoder to immediately change their decoder to MPEG-4 one because they will ceased the transmission via MPEG-2 starting on 1st May 2014 (yesterday).

dammit.. now i gotta need to find someone who already use astro for 24 months..

If I'm not mistaken, my uncle has terminated his astro long time ago while still on contract and the CS told him about the RM500 charge will be prorated by them according to the remaining month(s) of your contract. Let's say, initial contract will be 24 months (2 years) for all the new subscription, so they will prorated it based on the following calculation...

500/24 = RM20.83

remaining contract : 12 months, thus;

RM20.83 x 12 months = RM249.96 + any remaining monthly subscription that are still available

My uncle case goes like that and again, it's about 6-7 years ago. Without further asking, he just paid the remaining balance because he moved to oversea to further his study there. Maybe they have change their procedure about termination within contract now and charge the sum of RM500 regardless of how many month(s) of your contract balance with them. notworthy.gif

It's better for you to contact astro CS or go straightly to their customer service office nearest to your area to clarify about this matter.

Hi, Byond user here but not subscribed with PVR.

World Cup is just next month for I think PVR can be quite useful so thinking of enabling it.

I understands that RM50 is needed for the installation & monthly fee is waived right? but until when? That's been bugging me for a while though. IINM the TNC mentioned Astro would start charging without notice?
*
The monthly fee of rm10 for pvr service will be only 'waived' if you are subscribing to superpack. If you just subscribe for normal package, rm10 will be charge to you every month until you terminate your pvr subscription.

use 1 year Byond then jump to IPTV 1 year...
does this work?
or have to charge more?
*
Your contract will be renewed to another 2 years if you jump to the iptv platform...
Same case goes to byond hd then jump to byond pvr. Contract will be renewed even though your contract has ended.

Well to me asstro SD was blur all the way, when was it sharp and clear!
*
Astro SD is blur and not sharp. But I think when you see by yourself the SD picture quality of Indovision (pay tv from Indo), Truevision (pay tv from Thailand) and Skynet (pay tv from Myanmar), I think you'll take back your words... sweat.gif Their SD channels was totally way more blur than what Astro have. I've seen it by myself, right at my home. Although their SD channels was blur, but you have plenty of choice available, especially Indovision and well there are no 3-5 minutes censorship 'delay' at all. They take it straightly from the original feeds.
