Any significant different with the existing Astro HBO HD?

for starters the astro hbo is stretched version of SD.. it is not true HD

not all movies are stretched la. only those older movies. but agree at it's not really HD

No wonder our HBO has no HD on the logo

I DO HOPE FOX MOVIES IS 1080P BUT ASTRO ONLY GIVE 1080i! :c

For the time being most of sat tv provider in the world only capable of delivering HD in 1080i. 1080p is too heavy. only blu ray can deliver.

Our SD HBO 411 is basically a simulcast and letterboxed HBO HD 431, when viewed with LCD TV and stretched... It looks wierd...

Meanwhile, Happy Raya everyone!

The HBO and HBO HD we have is actually 16:9 SD!
Real HBO HD have HD logo!
Yes they are both stimulcast!But not HD version, its SD version!
And astro letterboxed it for the SD subscribers.

So far is it only Fox HD is having the Dolby sound from Astro?

Use LB expand mode on letterboxed channel. while pillar box on 4:3 channel. no stretched issue, i also cannot stand looking at stretch picture.

For those who interested of "scrutinize" the b.yond (non Samsung, lol) interface.

my dumb byond pvr.
call assteruk pvr to change to samsung but never process one

Anyone here encounter problem with the new Samsung PVR STB? Mine sometimes when power on from standby it will give me screen with green tint and then all the remote key including the button panel wont be working and I will having to power off it completely to reboot it. But is very rare...

my uncle's unit did not encounter any issues.
thats weird, but live with it first, the pvr unit is very demanding right now.

Ohh... is it due to Astro currently requiring customers with older STB to upgrade with newer unit? Actually I still got another PVR decoder for multiroom which is older than this Samsung decoder 1 generation and it is still working flawlessly.
