Pcmoddingmy's test result @ page2 #22

Test bed:
Amd A64 3200+
TR XP-90C
DFI Sli-DR Expert
200GB WD SATA II
Acbel 500W PSU

xms3513pro1gb.JPG

Testing:
The meaning of OC here is really on OCing the ram,
over the default rated speed.
so, 1st target will be over 3500.

and that is the result.
this is 250 3-3-2-5 @ 2.7v
user posted image

@260, with such a rate, 3d stable, prime stable, superPi 32M stable.
Attached Image

@265, only able to get sandramark.
the pc freeze while i play CS.

take a look at the voltage,
since my 0516FPAW does not give me impressive result,
for temporarily, i'll stop here @260.

will go for another try, when getting gsan's venice.

Weird reporting:
this ram does not like much on high voltage.
infact, it can do pretty well on extreme low voltage.

I dunno how to describe...
Let's take a look at the picture...
see the voltage of ram urself, no cheating...

Full story:

this pair of ram is the latest DDR produce by corsair.
item is twinx 2048 3500LL pro.
and i hv confirm from the houseofhelp(ramguy) is infineon rev c.

so i juz started the adventure of OC...
1st attempt hitting 250 on 3-3-2-5, using 2.8v...
i juz ran for only 14 minutes prime, failed...
so no choice, down to 9/10 divider, so is running 227.
then start process of priming...

of course now when i free, i started attempt again...
manatau, memtest86+ also getting tons of error of test #5.

then cannot, try by add up voltage...
wah! more error occured.
for 250mhz, i hv lowering the voltage untill 2.4v, and it gave the less error.

i never dare to try more than 2.87v.
since knew that 2.84v giving more error.
then conclusion i can made is, this ram run on low voltage.
very low!

Erkk.. weird but if giving more voltage doesnt help either than u have to play with your setup and find the best configuration. And you can google to find results of infineon rev c, how they oc and their voltage requirements.

i got the same experience..
i'd test be-5 and ce-5 b4.. both of them perform better with low VDimm.. increase the VDimm will just give error in memtest or prime95 when achieving higher fsb..

dunno...

another testing now...
250@ 2.7v. rclxms.gif

16 idle cycle limit
Async/RP 8/6
Drive & data strength set to 7/4

and, it works fine under priming, for 2 hours, still testing.
lookslike i hv to do a full testing for every possible combinations... shocking.gif

later when 3d stable, prime stable, pi stable, i'll continue raising up.
but my proc limit my speed, it is hard 4 me now to raise the clock more than 250.

expert ? It takes me weeks to finally find the best combination of Drive Strength and Tref. Set your Drive and Data Strength to AUTO. PLay with your Tref first. I find 4708 to be the best for my mushkin BH5. Then i slowly tweaked it and found level 6 for drive strength and level 1 for data strength. smile.gif

If u've gone through XS, yes, many users had tested them with lower volts, especially on infineons CE/BE and it actually overclocks well. However, some reported otherwise
