I own a Nikon D200 for 7 years now. But the camera is so reliable I haven't claim any warranty so the warranty card was left unfilled. So I was wondering whether the warranty is still valid after all this years. If the camera shutter just just konk out. I wonder I can have it change a new shutter without any charges and have new shutter with zero shutter count. That would be nice. Any one care to share?

Normally they'll cross check with receipt buying date or serial number...

claim warranty with receipt. Else, you can't claim any warranty.

Now I remember I sent in my Nikon 18-70mm lens for checking because of back focusing. They didn't ask for receipt. I guess there is no harm trying if there is really a problem with my camera. Thanks for all the input.

Not sure for Nikon but for Canon, I sent in few times and sometime they did not even ask for receipt or warranty card. I think once the item is sold, they will update their database and from there they will only need the serial number to get all the relevant information.

I am thinking the same too, as last time I sent my camera for servicing, all they do is ask for serial number to check if it's still in warranty. |

where u r gonna chop the warranty card?
u can't just present an unfilled warranty card and ask for FOC repairs.. i have bought lenses from japan and was told by Nikon SC that it must be chopped to claim warranty the D200 is a discontinued product for many years.. the D400 rumours r floating around already... i can't believe Nikon can blindly accept ur claim that the D200 was bought brand new less than 12 months ago... i guess it depends whether they wanna close one eye.... QUOTE(razuryza @ Jul 23 2013, 05:09 PM) And how come u so sure that they will ask for receipt? Lol even if no receipt... the warranty card can still be filled up rite? Just be logical. What if u got the cam as present or lucky draw? Where on earth u will have the receipt? So cant claim warranty lah? blank warranty card + genuine receipt i guess they can accept... but blank warranty card without receipt is abit... |
