it depends what are you looking for...for me..if pay high but stuck in same position for years better not.work as a supervisor;get the skill and after few years of experince can go to another company with higher position and even higher pay to justify...if you have financial commitment car loan etc. then of course opt for higher pay...and if you are confident you can find job elsewhere later with higher position pls go ahead...best is...higher salary and higher position of course:P

Job Satisfaction pwns all.
Like me, previously was a lowly-paid Creative Writer but didn't mind the minimal pay UNTIL company treated us shabbily. So there, low pay doesn't mean the end of the world is nigh but as long as you get the experience, then it should be alright. happy.gif

Work hard to get a higher salary but don't make that the ONLY criteria. wink.gif

Yeah, where would you want to be?

1. Senior IT Engineer in mid size Malaysian company at 4000 RM pm
2. Junior IT Engineer in MNC at 3000 RM pm

Honestly, people generally work for money. If I had won say 30 mil euro, no matter how good I'm paid I would probably resign and do what I really like (travelling around the world for pleasure and not for business, etc). I'm sure vast majority of you would do the same.

Position means title and titles mean nothing. Reputation and experience means everything. Somehow Malaysians are very much after job titles - dunno why, are you a better person having "senior" or "manager" on the business card?

I speak of experience, I interviewed a lot of Senior IT Executives, IT Managers, Senior Engineers that did not qualify for simple IT engineering/support jobs in MNC. They tried to impress me with titles and promotions they got over their years. Well I hire because the skills and experience and not because of the title...

Funny how most people think that the longer your title, the better your pay. XD LOLs.

Longer title? LOL ... I have been offered for a position of "Digital IC Design Engineer". Is that long? The pay is just same as a fresh graduate.

Well, I think the higher your position in the organization structure of the company, the higher the pay. This is more appropriate.
