This is correct, the free internet can only be used while line in active period.

And with this plan, the active period drop from 2x to 1x.

Btw, after the free 1GB used, there is free 2GB at low speed.

If you don't make calls normally, I think Power plus UMI25 is good enough. Then, your RM30 monthly topup leaves RM5 spare for calls and sms. Anyway, you can just top up another RM5 or so for spare credits if you prefer UMI30.

For anyone switching from existing U Mobile Prepaid to Power plan, please take note of the following:

1 your credit validity will be reset to 10 days from switching date

2 all freebies will be cancelled

3 any existing UMI or MB subscription will be cancelled and you will need to resubscribe, and that's not possible for items like UMI28 that are no longer offered.

Think carefully, use up stuff and plan the timing of your upgrade. Cheers.

As mentioned, apart from the 1GB data, UMI28 has 100 mins of bundled calls. There's also the off-peak YouTube that comes with all UMI subscriptions.

And I was told the 1GB each month renews based on the date of your first top of RM10 or more that qualifies you for it. That is a bit weird compared to resetting the quota at the start of each month, as done by DG for example.

Yeah validity is 1x instead of 2x, free calls to U lines is 15 mins/day instead of 30 mins/day, and all sms are 08 sen (no more 03 sen to U lines).

Got, need to activate by smsing LTE ON to 28118.

got credit? you need 05 sen for the sms charge..

keep trying, maybe system busy..

when it works, you get two sms reply

1 your request in progress

2 successfully activated

line active? how long you used magic sim? there might be a minimum tenure before you can port out?

I think you need to keep longer than 3 days... one month maybe?
