Nope. My parents was using a Long Live Plan on Hotlink which have 365days validity, the bad is 35sens/min calls, and as well no Data Plan option (got, but not worth for value) So I decide to jump to UMI20 for my parents which are cheaper call rate and as well have data incase they can WhatsApps/WeChat us.

In cause you curious, the 365days validity is RM33/years.
*
okay. understood. just asking so that I know what to answer when people asks about wanting to mnp in the future laugh.gif

Summary, the reason for your mnp decision is:
1. Cheaper calls(both ways - since UMI offers free calls and even if that is used up, there's still free calls for UM <-> UM)
2. Data plan w/ quota enough for your parents

Thats the reason, non-techy Aunty or Uncle normally just call as priority, so the call rate must cheap, no matter on-network or off-network.
Another things is offer cheap Data bundle are great, because they won't Facebook/Youtube madness like us. Even they do, UMI50 offer 3GB Data which my area have very good Umobile Coverage compare to DiGi/Maxis. By the ways, their D/M/H Plan are sucks so much.

Digi has a 250mb per month for 1 year plan for RM25. I'm subscribed to it but not sure whether they will re-release it or not next year laugh.gif

How was the other freebies and rate for the plan you mentioned above?
*
The rate is normal like digi best rate. Link: https://new.digi.com.my/ecomm_C/plan_family...d=1403295601270

I've bought it from https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3423922&hl= 250mb is plentiful enough for your parents I think, but whether they will release this plan next year is another question sweat.gif

Aww schucks!
Say, the system was unable to auto subscribe because the balance is insufficient,
means it has lapsed i.e. cannot auto subscribe once I have top-up ?
*
if I'm not mistaken, if auto subscription fails for the first time, it will try to resubscribe again on the following day. That is if my memory serves me right

Another method would be, subscribe the data plan at your phone and ipad at the same day, so when your phone gets the sms reminder, you know you will need to subscribe for the tablet also. kill two birds with one stone laugh.gif

After weeks of thinking.. I still think that the previous U50 are better than P50 based on my call usage which most people I call are still not using Umobile.
*
If you need more calls while the previous data allocation are enough for you then the old plan are definitely better cry.gif

QUOTE(batman1172 @ Mar 10 2015, 11:53 AM)
Correct me if I'm wrong.

It would seem logical to stay with u50 or move out to digi smartplan 50 which cost RM45/monthly and also get 100 minutes call bundled.
Either that, move to UMI30. get 1.5gb data and an additional 70 minutes would cost RM7. so total RM37, I assume - and there is little difference now from postpaid to prepaid since there is international roaming on both

My calls are mostly to 50% maxis and 10% umobile and 40% others and my data hardly 1gb a month. Rarely I exceed 100minites call.
*
yeah, move to UMI30 would be better.

Guys, i have used umobile for very long d, few days ago i saw this tunetalk internet plan so cheap, do u guys recommend to change?
*
well, you can get yourself a sim first before going for it, imo, it would be better to keep the umobile line first then only you decide

QUOTE(rootlinux @ Mar 10 2015, 03:39 PM)
May I know which DiGi prepaid you subscribe the 250MB/month for 1 year plan RM25? Thanks.

Ya that is why I stick with U50. Meanwhile, iPhone priced increased last night. I wonder what Umobile offer this time...

Not particularly sure about their pricing too as I didn't subscribed for their updates

2 of my colleagues have already use umobile LTE when they bought iPhone 6+ on may 2014 and Aug 2014...
hence, I can confirm that um network is supported.

Another colleague of mine is also using umobile network is also using iphoNe....

And also, my fren who working with umobile also confirm this...
*
just to clear the confusion, iPhone 5 and below either don't support 4g LTE or it doesn't supports the band that umobile uses(2600mhz).
Source: https://www.u.com.my/taxonomy/term/102 + http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_5-4910.php

For iPhone 5S, based on this link by lowyat: http://www.lowyat.net/2013/12/we-have-no-a...phone-and-ipad/ , it seems that the iphone that is brought in by Apple doesn't supports band 2600 as well(some other variants do but it seems like it is not the case for the variant that is sold here).

While iPhone 6 has out of the box support for all bands for its 4g spectrum so it is not an issue laugh.gif

Hope that clears the confusion that is going on nod.gif

Not true. I used to be a Umobile subscriber and their LTE could not support iphone (only 3g network for iphone even though they have launch LTE that time) thats why I swirch to Maxis.

If iphone can connect to umobile LTE now I might consider to switch back.
*
read my reply above to understand how did they come up with their point. So, if I am guessing it right, you should be using iPhone 5, backed up with some info based on your threads), so I would say that you still can't use UMobile for 4g LTE as it doesn't supports bands like 700 or 2100mhz that iPhone 5 supports.

Yes you're right. That was during iphone 5 time.  thumbup.gif

If that's the case my iPhone 6 shouldn't be a problem but the lte coverage for umobile is pretty less. Pj and kl area not supported?
*
Not particularly sure, it doesn't seems so from the coverage map, and I don't data much when I go to kl laugh.gif

I'll leave this to someone who works at kl/pj to tell you the answer

Dear all,

Just a quick question here, previously was using maxis prepaid and now changed to u-mobile. My line not stable in the same place after switch to u-mobile, I thought U-Mobile using the same network as maxis?
*
for 2g only. If you use 3g or 4g, it uses U Mobile's own network, but if there's no 3g connectivity then it will fallback to Maxis's 2g/3g depending on the connectivity there

I set my phone to lock on 3G network only, if there's no U Mobile 3G, will it auto connect to Maxis 3G?
I plan to switch to U mobile also, but wonder about their 3G roaming with maxis.
*
Supposedly it will, but I've never been to a place where there's no UMobile 3g signal so can't answer you on that.

I'm maxis subscribe plan to make a change since i'm using surf75 with 5gb but alway get bill for rm12x to rm15x...

should i switch to Umobile , most of the time i travel selangor and WP , penang, genting, ipoh .

Will i able to surf + call within those state?
*
can't recall about Genting(wasn't using UMobile at the time I went to Genting), but it works fine at the other states mentioned. There are certain places where it will be dodgy, but the same case lies for any other telco as well.
