yeah, at the moment umobile don't bar data when credit validity expires

I was on UMI 38 previously. I canceled it. There was RM 10 in my prepaid account. Topped up RM 30 into my acc, bad mistake, I should switch to Power Prepaid before I topped up. I switched to Power Prepaid. RM 3 charged to my acc. No free Internet because they ask me to top to get any free internet and I topped before I switched. I decided to use up my credit by buying a UMI 20.

Today my UMI 20 status is
Data Usage: 0.20GB/0.50GB 14.00 Voice Mins Expiry: 05-11-15 1:00AM

However, I can no longer make calls since a fews day back and just lost DATA today. Because dialling *118# says my Exp: 17/10/2015
I also get SMS from Umobile "RM0. An immediate top up is required before you can make any outgoing calls, SMS or use the internet."

Can anyone please explain why that is the case? I still got validity from UMI 20 why no DATA and Voice? Does Power Prepaid take precedence over UMI?

when u switch ur plan, only 10 days validity left, so u won't be able to make outgoing call after expired day
so simply top up further to enjoy 1gb data free

Also, on UMI 25, I get 2GB. I am new to prepaid, let's say I put in RM25 on 1st of November.

For call charges to non umobile numbers, how to I pay for the calls? will it deduct the RM25 or do I need to add more money into the account?

You got wrong concept. UMI 25 you should think of it as a separate add-on.

You can reload X amount of ringgit (easy say RM30) to your prepaid, so you give U mobile RM30, and you get RM30 to your prepaid account (let's ignore GST).

Then your RM30 in the prepaid account you can spend to 'buy' 30 days of UMI25, left RM5 for you to use for SMS/call.

Conclusion? Stay with U28.

Which means I must always put RM40 just incase, so that I can always make a call and not be stuck in an emergency??

Another thing, say its the same UMI25, if I put RM40 inside, and not use it up for calls, will the RM15 be brought forward to next month?

practically ONLY for calls surely DiGi 65 is slightly (RM5) cheaper than umobile
but consider about the free data also

anyway, most importantly, is Your area and ur gf area got very strong signal of Umobile / Digi

postpaid is like credit card, use first, pay later.

prepaid credit just like ur Debit Card
u save ur money into ur bank, u spend it when u want ( mbday RM5.. UMi25 RM25.... MB40 RM40..... )
the balance remains there as long as u are active, the credit would be burned if more than 50~55 days not topped up after expired day.

a. download apps My U Mobile, key in the number and password, can track easily
b. connect the wifi, login the gateway (192.168.8.1 for huawei, 192.168.0.1/ .1.1 for zte ) , using the USSD send *118*2*3#
c. sms thru gateway or sim card.
d. check with CRM system if u got dealer access
