Summary, the reason for your mnp decision is:
1. Cheaper calls(both ways - since UMI offers free calls and even if that is used up, there's still free calls for UM <-> UM)
2. Data plan w/ quota enough for your parents

Thats the reason, non-techy Aunty or Uncle normally just call as priority, so the call rate must cheap, no matter on-network or off-network.
Another things is offer cheap Data bundle are great, because they won't Facebook/Youtube madness like us. Even they do, UMI50 offer 3GB Data which my area have very good Umobile Coverage compare to DiGi/Maxis. By the ways, their D/M/H Plan are sucks so much.

Digi has a 250mb per month for 1 year plan for RM25. I'm subscribed to it but not sure whether they will re-release it or not next year

How was the other freebies and rate for the plan you mentioned above?

means it has lapsed i.e. cannot auto subscribe once I have top-up ?

if I'm not mistaken, if auto subscription fails for the first time, it will try to resubscribe again on the following day. That is if my memory serves me right

does umobile have apps or website to monitor data usage? coz i'm using data plan on ipad, i cant receive sms to check balance.

ya, but that couldn't be always same since there are always many different results feedback from customers.

so far there is no such apps or website, i only can check it with my umobile system which normal customer can't access

Another method would be, subscribe the data plan at your phone and ipad at the same day, so when your phone gets the sms reminder, you know you will need to subscribe for the tablet also. kill two birds with one stone

Guys, i have used umobile for very long d, few days ago i saw this tunetalk internet plan so cheap, do u guys recommend to change?

After weeks of thinking.. I still think that the previous U50 are better than P50 based on my call usage which most people I call are still not using Umobile.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

It would seem logical to stay with u50 or move out to digi smartplan 50 which cost RM45/monthly and also get 100 minutes call bundled.
Either that, move to UMI30. get 1.5gb data and an additional 70 minutes would cost RM7. so total RM37, I assume - and there is little difference now from postpaid to prepaid since there is international roaming on both

My calls are mostly to 50% maxis and 10% umobile and 40% others and my data hardly 1gb a month. Rarely I exceed 100minites call.

May I know which DiGi prepaid you subscribe the 250MB/month for 1 year plan RM25? Thanks.

If you need more calls while the previous data allocation are enough for you then the old plan are definitely better

yeah, move to UMI30 would be better.

well, you can get yourself a sim first before going for it, imo, it would be better to keep the umobile line first then only you decide
