U mobile rover = waste money, waste time.

While some of the members and dealers at LYN has been helpful with ideas,
the problem with U-mobile postpaid goes unsolved.

Being charge for billing but did not get bill
Cannot email bill on-time regularly after 4 months.

This are not unusual request/practise.
I complaint to MCMC, got rude call from U-mobile.

I guess zebra never change its stripes,
U-mobile, Berjaya Group Company still unscrupulous operation.

Anyone shopping for postpaid, avoid u-mobile.

Fa*k, and my friend just MNP to umobile a month ago.

crappy service.

There is 2 things here,
1). U Mobile prepaid
2). UMI (Internet/Data plan)

If your friend is using a smartphone , chances are, the smartphone is requesting / sending data from the OS / apps even without the user's interaction .

Did your friend subscribe to the UMI plan?

here's the interesting part, she did subscribe to UMI18, but that day umobile doing maintenance, she receive sms auto renew will be delayed. then at night she top up, after that suddenly left few cent credit. didnt receive any notification of UMI renewal.

i did call CS, they put me on hold for 10 minutes+ while checking, end up telling me they have no idea where the credit goes, say have to check and contact me later.

after that, i send them email once every few days, always standardized answer doh.gif

Yeah man, I remember that time. Loss a few cents credit and shortern expiry date myself . But lucky me I always screen capture and thus able to prove my case. Sent email and most of the major issue was fixed.

Good luck to you.

I've only used umobile and digi before, so I'll definitely choose umobile between the two. I don't really use my phone a lot, so Maxis and Celcom are not really for me as I don't really need a more premium service for a higher price

same here. and i prefer umobile to digi

What I faced is mainly the billing.
I asked for itemised billing sent by email.

U-mobile charged me for this.
Did not deliver the bill.
Chase for payment even though I sign up for auto deduct.
After 4 mths, I filed with MCMC.

U-mobile call me and was rude.
The issue is still unresolved.

The sales rep/ dealer was very helpful.
Unfortunately, he is also helpless.

I was also frustrated being charged for other stuff
But most simple and common thing about billing also U-mobile = fail.

BTW, how is Celcom? I am shopping for new provider.

Using U128 plan for broadband. Expensive, yes, but cheaper when compared to other telcos.

Some more now they have changed the plan to 10+20GB plan for the same price.

Hey guys, was thinking about switching to u since my hotlink youth club expired :33 Does anyone know what does umobile offer for MNP? On the website it just says

"Get a FREE Prepaid SIM Pack when you switch to U Mobile and enjoy 15% top-up bonus for the next 6 months.

Enjoy all these and more when you hop on over."

What exactly is the 15% bonus and what's more in allthese and "more"?

If U-mobile also don't know how to explain / ensure they can deliver on their ad promise, why you still want to sign on to them? You want to support company to cheat you/consumer?

Finally the decision is your own.

15% bonus = 15% top up bonus is pretty much self explanatory, I guess.

Reload 10 = get 11.15
Reload 30 = get 34.50
Reload 50 = get 57.50

The "more" includes:
1. Free Calls & Internet(Free calls, sms, yes. But I don't know where does the free Internet comes from)
2. Lowest 3G Data Rate
3. No Roaming Charges in Singapore

which are the 3 picture based ads on top of what you've read. A bit weird as the content placement is like of reverse logic as it took me my second read to notice that the 3 pictures above are for the text based ads that you've mentioned, but that's that.

Note: you can apply the same logic at the postpaid section and you will see that my logic tallies so it is pretty much it.

Well what to do, pretty much every telco out there does this now :/ Just wanna get some clarification. You mentioned "ensure they can deliver on their ad promise" is umobile like that?

Free internet when you top up is part of the prepaid plan these days

example

RM10 top up = 10MB free, valid for 10 days

Okay. UMI18, UMI28 etc etc are not plans right? They're more like monthly passes which you purchase with your prepaid credit right? If so, do the prepaid reload bonuses stack with UMIs?

Eg. RM30 prepaid reload you get 30 days free calls to all umobile numbers but UMI28 has 50mins free calls to all networks so how do they stack? If i call umobile numbers after topping up RM30 will it be free and also use up the 50mins quota from UMI28?

@BenSow

The UMI minutes will be used up first, even if you call another U line.

And if you've got free internet quota after topping up, this will be deducted before your UMI quota.

The bonus credit just adds to your main credit, so can be spent how you like. Unlike DG and Hotlink, the bonus credit has no validity attached with it.
