hmm.. your are driving a wira like me also... well actually if you only use a component set up front, then one 12" sub in the trunk with a custom built enclosure according to the sub recommendation... it will be better sounding than having a list of speakers... with a simple setup like this you will hav a front staging not matter where you sit in the car... but of cuz the rear passenger will loss a lil details and hav a lot of the low bass... but most of the time we cannot fulfill everyones need in the car... the most important ppl is you... cuz you are going to drive the car...
save up the money for those useless speakers to do some sound proof on your front door better... if it is enough
cheers...

one thing might be your tuning if you are running active... mayb the gain are too high or the high-pass too low... causing the tweeter to be distorded... but if you are running passive then cannot tune unless you wan to DIY your custom crossover block...
another thing might be your placing... point the tweeters away from you... mayb you are aiming them too directly towards you...
one way is to point the left tweeter to the driver's left ear while pointing the right tweeter to the passanger's right ear...
if still very sharp... then point the tweeters facing each other on the dash... but this way usually you will lose a lil bit of the details... but i am using mine like this too... but place on the center of the A-pillar where is height is almost the same height of my ears when i am sitting in the car... found tht it gives me more natural sound...
hope it helps... and correct me if i am wrong...
cheers...

i think the first one is for your tweets and the second one is for your mid... not confirmed as i dun own and seen one of these passive blocks yet... my opinion is facing upward will be hard to get the centre stage... do you hav an amp to power the component? if yes, try to use -6db on the treble and bass... my tweets were very bright for me too last time when i run on 0db... then when i set to -6db, the harshness problem solved...
hmm... kangyoon... interesting thing but i never think bout an install like tht.. but anyhow... thanks for sharing...
cheers...

amp gone thru wear and tear? hmm... never come across tht... but IMHO the best way to protect your amp is to run it as cold as possible tht is by giving it a good ventilation... add a computer fan for it if you wan...
and those cloth, my hometown here we always for to "cushion shop" where they deal with all kinds of cushion... these ppl do those fabriction work for our cars here... but in the west i cannot confirm is the same...
cheers...
