Greeting all beloved satria owners~... i am a newbie and might be joining this club soon.. gonna ask for idea and experiences from all of u... thanks notworthy.gif

I am kinda interested with the look of satria neo and the two door version. so yeah, i went for deep research on the online reviews, reading thru neo car clubs, pro and cons.. I am not tall, so the comfort is a no problem for me, and the i love two doors too. (have project for scissor door even though i know the two door is really heavy and heavier than the sedan 4 door but i am likey to see the scissors in neo, i noticed the hydraulic might not tahan, but then sigh, i hope there's solution for tat...) I am uni student by the way, but capable for downpayment of 2nd hand neo cps and the loan monthly and some heavy mod... drool.gif

But then i am very concerned abt the performance of the neo cps...

1. After a few days of researching, i found out tat most of em claimed tat (M) cps neo got jerking problem. can the problem be solved? hmm.gif

2. is it the auto neo cps loss much power due to the torque converter? of course i am into 3 pedals, but yeah, juz asking if i found a cheap auto 2nd hand neo cps... sigh.. i might but hope i dont, go for an auto if i found a cheap one? sigh... then save those money for mod...

3. I have requested reviews from my frens who are driving neo cps. and most of em are telling me tat the car is much underpowered although after 4.5k rpm.. sigh.. being honest,I am a freak who like speed, (more acceleration than top speed), love tigh corners, and challenging some random dudes on the road... So actually my question is this neo cps engine is tat bad like they said? and the low- mid range power is okay rite? (i do noticed some of the cps engine like waja engage earlier.)

(drove 4age silver top 20V - Love the kicks, ZC engine sohc in integra 89, love the speed although it's a heavy car, 4g15 carb, nice but worry abt maintainance hassel... and my favourite k3vet in myvi, lol nothin much to say, powerful, but then auto/tiptronic) sigh...

I wanna something tat got potential when i dump in 5-10k of money to mod...

P/s : I don't like fart can, but love to have the exhaust swapped for a bassy loud and sweet downpipe and exhaust, any idea the cps engine can give me tat desired sound? laugh.gif brows.gif

4. with lightened crank pulley, adjustable cam pully, highcam, aerospeed plug cables, iridium plugs, 4-2-1, and complete downpipe ( i think cost me around 8k?) is it worth for this?

or go for strengthen the engine plus BOT? and cps engine tahan mar for BOT? doh.gif say if and only if i can find a guy who know and capable of doing campro bolt on in kuching area... (considering i change to forged pistons, new crank , fuel regulator, some better fuel injector and the unique piggy for the neo cps after turbocharged cause my fren told me the VDO prob which cant match with e-manage or any other ecu..) but i do notice that compression for this engine is kinda high... sigh)

5. yeah i am hunger for power in this satria neo outlook,i understand bot might be more risky as i think neo cps will be fragile and more hassel than swapping in 4g92 mivec and 4g93t? though 4g63T is illegal. I juz wan it to be fast in neo... but of course better if can retain the cps engine. sweat.gif

6. heard the handling is good in stock, but if looking forward for more, any idea? suspension wise... and the 16" rim will it be too heavy for the accelaration?

Oh yar, this car will be my weekend car since i have a daily ride... I don't mind going workshop everyday as long as it's woth it.. though i used to skip all the classes and go to workshop and have my daily ride modded.. LOL...

Thanks for y'all for reading it and your time.. Selamat hari raya to those who celeberating raya~ ^^

P/S : 2nd hand neo cps will be enough for me and i am okay with NA, not a must to go for FI... Juz asking for details for the BOT cps engine, if a lot hassel, i will not go for tat of course =)

Hello Bro..biggrin.gif
I am student too..using Neo CPS..

1) Sometimes got jerking especially 2nd gear..but feels a bit only..hehe..tak selalu jerking camni..

2) Yes, approximately 20% loss...go for manual if possible..u won't regret..

3) Yeah I agree..CPS engine memang lazy one especially climbing from 1-3k rpm.. laugh.gif
but u will getting used to it..

Just change to aftermarket 4-2-1 extractor..low-mid improved a bit..

4) Never mod...my car is stock..focus on my studies firstly lol...

5) Swap to CFE engine  tongue.gif

6) 15" will do..easier to pick up~
About suspension, change to RCS !

QUOTE(raaisma @ Aug 12 2013, 07:36 PM)
Got a Neo CPS Auto with BOT here so I will answer a few of your questions based on what I have experienced so far. Yeah, I know people will say Auto is no good and etc etc. I agree up to a level but please bear in mind, my Neo is a work in progress, which means it will be upgraded as I use it in the future.

1) Don't know about that, so I'll leave that to manual owners to answer.

2) Standard Auto is of course, underpowered compared to manual. I have been in my friends' Neo CPS manual. The manual version does accelerate a bit better.

3) I believe CPS engine is designed to be revved high. It will become much more alive after 4400rpm. Changing your exhaust will make your Neo sound nastier  tongue.gif

4) I started with small upgrades such as those listed and then I decided to go BOT after much advise. I did it in KK. Total damage is around rm9k. I didn't change anything inside the engine including the piston because I specifically ask the mechanic to boost low. My boost is just at 0.4bar but that's enough for my usage. My aim is to have higher torque, not top speed because I travel a lot going up and down the Crocker range roads. The stock CPS is really useless going up the mountains, I tell you. Always got tapau'ed by a lot of bigger cars and 4WDs. After BOT, well the situation is reversed wink.gif

These are some of the upgrades done for the BOT:

Turbo header Campro CPS 4x1
Stainless steel piping kit with hose and clamp
Apexi delta fin intercooler HYBRID
Turbo rhf4 ball bearing
HKS SSQV 4 blowoff valve
Turbosmart wastegate 38mm
Original K&N air filter 3 inch
Hayden USA trasnmisssion oil cooler
Nozzle 550cc -injector change
Works Fuel regulator stage 1 w/ oil meter
Works Fuel Rail 10mm
E-MANAGE system w/ install
Velocity Intake CAMPRO
HKS Fully Synthetic Racing Oil
HKS oil filter Racing
Sard Thermal Wrap with Cable tie
Exhaust Change Steel
Piping throttle  adjustment
Fuel rail adjustment
Brided hose inlet turbo
Fiiting intake copper
Hose elbow 2"-2.5"
OBD check at GREEDSPEED
Oil cooler hose samco
Sensor exhaust and Map change
Proton engine check and clear code
Gearbox flush and change oil 6 litre
Downpipe wastegate

The mechanic did indeed have some troubles with the e-manage but somehow he solved the problem. My 2nd time tuning (at another performance garage in KK, sent by the mechanic) has made the car much more powerful and smoother gear change plus better FC (before tuning: 300km full tank. After tuning: 350km+ full tank).

5) Change the engine if you think it's worth it. Some people want me to change the engine instead of doing BOT. This is just an experiment for me so, I just use the CPS engine until it dies then I'll change to something else. Last time I dyno, the car produces 176whp, so I think that's alright. The thing is, I have done more than 25,000km after BOT and it doesn't give me any major problem at all. This car has been to Kuching twice from Sabah and it's gone almost every week up and down the Crocker range when I go to KK from Tenom. I love it. You will be surprised but the engine is reliable and send to service when it's time to. I guess I can attribute it to the mechanic. If there's any problem, I will ask my mechanic first.

6) Invest in stabilizer bars. They are not that expensive and it's worth it. Got a few of them in front, at the back and inside the fender (that triangle thingy?) with 205/50/16 Yokohama tyres. Man, that car can take corners at high speed and without having any tail wiggling. Correct me if I'm wrong, smaller rims means they are lighter, so better acceleration. The main reason I don't go for 17" is because of the rough roads in Sabah here. I think Sarawak is much worse.

That's my opinion. Appreciate any feedback from the sifus here. Selamat hari raya aidilfitri smile.gif

Thank you so much for replying me.. Your experience and idea will be much much appreciated because u own a BOT s4ph bro..

1st of all.. how much ur pure BOT cost u? roughly 4-5k?
after add on those parts for ur BOT, roughly 8-10k? total damage means u spent 9k?

i was thinking of Haltech s500, somehow somewat the e-manage seems cant work with cps iinm?

0.4 boost, low to mid range get better mar? Air fuel ratio need not adjust for low boost rite?

nice.. 176 whp is nice... thumbup.gif wow.. from sabah to kuching is kinda far yo.. thumbup.gif how much ur OIC? 5k?

ur suspension got upgrade?

Actually. i like neo cps u know, not to mention, the nice outlook for me (don flame me), and nice handling..

now juz tat having hard time choosing BOT s4ph / 4g93T / 4g63T..

but i like ur idea which if BOT s4ph die, then only considering swapping engine

btw, thanks for ur opinion.. selamat hari raya too~ biggrin.gif

As I said before, the damage is about RM9k. That means all the upgrades listed but not included other parts like stabilizer bars which I've put before that.  I think you can get a new Mistubishi engine for less than that but who cares, that's my money after all not other people's biggrin.gif

People say Haltech is the best. I don't know about that but for e-manage, my mechanic did mention something about e-manage don't have the manual/schematic thingy to tune for CPS but afterwards he said he then know how to do it. That guy is brilliant. He will learn something quickly and he's done a lot of turbo/performance conversion on other cars with excellent results.

I always visit my friends in Sarawak every year so Kuching is always in my list.hehehe

OIC is every 10k. I use fully synthetic oil. No problem at all so far. My suspension is still stock. I kinda like the ride. Thinking of upgrading the brakes but they still work perfect so far.

with e manage yeah, 9k is there.. w/o haltech s500, price can be diff for 2k imho with management.. sigh..

thinking of going high boost w strengthen internals? hmm.gif
